Meagan Hyland is a graphic designer, illustrator and self-professed type nerd. Based in Dublin Ireland her work is heavily influenced by pop culture and film as well as a fondness for the written word. A graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design, she has worked for clients from the public and private sector as well as exhibiting in galleries in Dublin, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and most recently San Diego Comic Con.

Meagan Hyland es una diseñadora gráfica, ilustradora y una nerd de la tipografía declarada. Afincada en Dublín, Irlanda, su trabajo está muy influenciado por la cultura pop y las películas, así como por su afición a la palabra escrita. Graduada por la Escuela de Limerick de Arte y Diseño, ha trabajado para clientes del sector público y del privado y ha expuesto en galerías de Dublín, Chicago, Los Ángeles, Nueva York y, más recientemente, en el Comic Con de San Diego.

“Hi, ok so for all my lettering prints I start by sketching by hand quite loosely to get the flow of the letters and how they will fit together. Then I draw and redraw until I am happy with the size and spacing of the letters, usually I work with pitt pens and sharpies. Then I scan in the final sketch and clean it up in illustrator

vectorise and play around with it until its ready to go to print.”

“Hola. Bien, pues empiezo todas mis fuentes haciendo un esbozo a mano sin apretar demasiado para conseguir que las letras fluyan y encajen. Luego dibujo y

redibujo hasta que estoy contento con el tamaño y el espaciado. Suelo trabajar con bolígrafos Pitt y rotuladores Sharpie. Después escaneo el esbozo final y lo limpio con Illustrator. Creo vectores y juego con él hasta que está listo para imprimir.”

Sérgio Bergocce is a São Paulo based graphic designer, illustrator and letterer. His professional career started working as a designer in a sports daily newspaper, Diario Lance, in São Paulo, Brazil. Over the next four years, acted as art director of Macmais Magazine, spaciallized in the Apple universe, published in Brazil. Sérgio Bergocce es un diseñador gráfico, ilustrador y rotulista que vive en Sao Paulo. Empezó su carrera profesional trabajando como diseñador en un periódico deportivo, el diario Lance, de dicha ciudad brasileña. Durante los cuatro años siguientes, estuvo de director artístico en la revista Macmais, especializada en el universo Apple y que se publica en Brasil. “I usually begin sketching by hand to make all the composition. After that, I scan it and redraw it to correct some imperfections and make some fine adjustments, I mean, improve the design at all. This digital process (including coloring) is done

with my good friend Wacom Intuos in Adobe Photoshop. So, we’re ready to print/publish.”
