SCHOLARSHIPS & STUDENT AID (FINANCIAL AID)

The Offce of Scholarships and Student Aid (OSSA) aims to provide fnancial assistance to students through scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study.

For each student who desires fnancial assistance, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed online at https://studentaid.gov beginning on October 1. Applicants should make sure the correct award year is selected and the school code of 002950 is listed in section six.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE AND DINING

New frst time students who submit their completed application by June 30 are guaranteed housing. A new frst time student is any student who has twenty-nine (29) or less college/university credit hours from NCCU and who did not complete any college credit hours after graduating from high school at a college/university other than NCCU. For your application to be complete, the $150 nonrefundable housing administrative fee must be paid in full and should be paid when completing the online application. Once we have received your completed application you will receive a confrmation notice. The housing selection process will begin on May 1. During this time, freshmen who have competed their housing application can select their room assignment.

PLAY HARD While our students work hard in the classroom, they also play hard on the feld and the court. Committing themselves to thriving both academically as well as competitively in their sport, they have earned a reputation as a true force to be reckoned with.

North Carolina Central University’s athletics programs have enjoyed regional and national recognition for years. Fifteen men’s and women’s sports teams participate in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition at the Division I level (Football Championship Subdivision) as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
