This year, the Festival runs from 15 to 25 July, a little later thannormal in order to avoid clashing with the World Cup.
We have a selection of high quality events, often showcasing localtalent, and covering dance, drama, film, literature, music, and poetry.

The News From Nowhere Club lecture: Libby Horner talkson Frank BrangwynFrank Brangwyn (1867 – 1956) was arguably the first British artistto gain an international reputation and certainly the first livingartist to be honoured with a retrospective at the Royal Academy.He worked briefly for William Morris, and received commissionsfrom Siegfried Bing and Tiffany. Kate Tempest and the Sound of RumDescribed by Scroobius Pip as “the highlight of my listeningyear” it’s not difficult to see why Kate Tempest is currentlyhotter than hot. Not bad considering she started outperforming her gritty, rap-rhymes at squat parties. Nowaudiences across the country have the chance to hear her on anationwide tour, she has just released her first poetry albumwith record company Pure Groove, and her band, Sound ofRum, have recently signed a record deal.
