A thriller of sex, secrets & liesA BRAND-NEW production of J.B. Priestleys Dangerous Corner, starring Michael Praed (of Robin of Sherwood fame) and Colin Buchanan (from Dazell and Pascoe), is visiting Hanleys Regent Theatre in November.Directed by Michael Attenborough and from the writer of An Inspector Calls, Priestleys first play is a timeless mystery, in which a chance remark at a dinner party exposes a world of murder and conspiracy.Known for his iconic portrayal in the classic TVseries, Robin of Sherwood, Praeds other screen credits include the hit shows, Dynasty and Riders; on stage, he recently led the UK tours of High Society, The Sound of Music and An Ideal Husband.Colin Buchanan is best-known for playing D.I. Pascoe for eleven years in the popular BBC TV series, Dalziel and Pascoe. They are joined by a strong ensemble which includes Kim Thomson, famed for her role as
Faye Lamb in ITVs Emmerdale and her own series, Virtual Murder, and Matt Milne, who starred in Steven Spielbergs movie adaptation of War Horse, and is fresh from his onscreen performance as Footman Alfred Nugent in Downton Abbey.
Completing the cast are Lauren Drummond, who had had major roles in the TV dramas, Holby City and Waterloo Road, and Flinty Williams, whose film credits include Gosford
Park and Mrs. Brown. All seems well at Robert and Freda Caplans
independent publishing house, until a can of worms is unceremoniously ripped open at a dinner party given by them.A chance remark plunges the guests into a re-examination of the mysterious events surrounding the recent death of young Martin Caplan, and skeletons come crashing out of the closet in more ways than one!Life will never be the same again.... or will it?
Dangerous Corner runs from Monday, November 17th, to Saturday, November 22nd, at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinee performances on Wednesday and Saturday.
