*What do you mean about
drugs?
*What isDrugs?
A drug is any substance other than food, that when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological change in the body. a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
*HOW DO DRUGS WORK?
Drugs are essentially poisons. The amount taken determines the effect. A small amount acts as a stimulant (speeds you up). A greater amount acts as a sedative (slows you down). An even larger amount poisons and can kill. They directly affect the mind. They can distort the user’s perception of what is happening around him or her. As a result, the person’s actions may be odd, irrational, inappropriate and even destructive. Drugs block off all sensations, the desirable ones with the unwanted. So, while providing short-term help in the relief of pain, they also wipe out ability and alertness and muddy one’s thinking.
*Drugs can do to you!
Illegal drugs can cause things like hallucinations (seeing strange things), sickness, depression, liver and kidney problems and fits. Some illegal drugs can kill the first time the person takes them. Taking too much of any drug is called an overdose. A serious overdose of almost any drug can kill you.
*The effects of drugs
Drug misuse can be harmful to your health in both the short term and the long term, and could possibly lead to addiction.
* DRUGS AFFECT THE MIND
When a person remembers something, the mind is very fast and information comes to him quickly. But drugs blur memory, causing blank spots. When a person tries to get information through this cloudy mess, he can’t do it. Drugs make a person feel slow or stupid and cause him to have failures in life. And as he has more failures and life gets harder, he wants more drugs to help him deal with the problem.

How it can affect in our life and body?
*Why drugs kill you?
It takes to overdose the body to get mixed signals from the brain and then shut down, either by overheating, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure or by retaining too much water. For most users, this happens after years of addiction and after repeatedly increasing the dosage taken to the point of no return. But for others, it can happen the first time a drug is tried.
*Drug addiction!
Drug Addiction is a chronic, often relapsing brain disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences to the addicted individual and to those around him or her. Although the initial decision to take drugs is voluntary for most people, the brain changes that occur over time challenge an addicted person’s self-control and hamper his or her ability to resist intense impulses to take drugs.
*Why Do Some People Become Addicted While Others Do Not?
No single factor can predict whether a person will become addicted to drugs. Risk for addiction is influenced by a combination of factors that include individual biology, social environment, and age or stage of development. The more risk factors an individual has, the greater the chance that taking drugs can lead to addiction

drug use and abuse.* Listen. Be a good listener when your children talk about
peer pressure, and be supportive of their efforts to resist it.*Set a good example. Don't abuse alcohol or addictive
