The Residence...The design of the 6,000 square-foot main residence was thoughtfully inspired by Spanish Colonial Architecture with California Mission influences. The developer, architect and interior designer worked tirelessly to ensure that the architectural design goals were coordinated with the furniture, rugs and window treatments to enhance the selected materials and finishes of every room. The immaculate attention to scale, color and texture is apparent throughout the entire Little Hawkins Island property. Countless custom elements were incorporated, including handcrafted solid African mahogany doors, reclaimed antique heart pine flooring and handmade Spanish terra cotta tiles. Each piece of ironwork, from the entry gate and front doors to the interior railing and decorative pieces, was custom designed and hand forged in Monterey, Mexico by second and third generation artisans. The spectacular interior is completely furnished with both new and antique furniture as well as Persian and Turkish hand-woven rugs and unique lantern-style lighting. With its five fireplaces, gourmet kitchen equipped for the most discerning chef and extensive use of covered outdoor spaces, Little Hawkins was designed for the individual or entity that entertains and can easily accommodate parties of 300 or more. The Little Hawkins Club, boasting 2,000 square feet of conditioned space, includes an outdoor pool and spa, a clubroom and bar, fully equipped workout facility and men’s and women’s locker rooms. One can relax by the pool, fireplace or gather around the pool and game tables. The island’s state-of-the-art private dock can berth a boat up to 40 feet in length, and contains a lift that has a 20,000 lb. capacity. From the dock, wildlife such as dolphins, otters, turtle, deer, birds and fish are regularly spotted around the coastal salt marsh ecosystem. The guest casitas, each with 1,500 square feet of conditioned space, offer privacy for your guests but are just steps from the main residence. Each casita has two complete suites.
