li-fi technology in wireless communication
DESCRIPTION
Li-Fi technology in woreless communication The possibilities are numerous and can be explored further. If this technology can be put into practical use, every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit wireless data and will proceed toward the cleaner, greener, safer and brighter future. The concept of Li-Fi is currently attracting a great deal of interest not least because it may offer a genuine and very efficient alternative to radio-based wireless. As a growing number of people and their many devices access wireless internet, the airwaves are becoming increasingly clogged, making it more and more difficult to get a reliable, high- speed signal. This may solve issues such as the shortage of radio-frequency bandwidth and also allow internet where traditional radio based wireless is not allowed such as aircraft or hospitals. One of the shortcomings however is that it only work in direct line of sight.TRANSCRIPT

INTRODUCTION One germen phycist. Harald
Haas has come up with a solution he calls
“data through illumination” D-Light taking the fiber out of fibber optic by sending data through an LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than the human eye can follow.
HISTORY OF NETWORKSIn the olden days.

Wireless networking.
PRESENT TECHNOLOGY
1.4 Million 5 Billion
PRESENT TECHNOLOGY Radio Spectrum is congested but the demand for wireless data
double each year .Every thing, it seems want to use wireless data but the capacity is drying up.
So what can carry this excess demand in the future .
1.4 Million base stations, 5 billion Mobile stations
600tb data every month

ISSUES REGARDING RADIO SPECTRUM
WHO CAN REPLACES THE RADIO WAVES FORWIRELESS COMMUNICATION ?
LI-FI TECHNOLOGY
oLi-Fi means “Light Fidelity”. It is possible to encode data in the light by varying the rate at which the LEDs flicker ON and OFF to give different strings of 1’s and 0’s.
ARCHITECTURE OF LI-FI
LI-FI ENVIRONMENT
WORKING PROCESSLi-Fi offers an integrated light source that is straight forward to integrate into a projector. In this example LIFI consists of 5 primary sub-assemblies: Printed circuit board (PCB) RF power amplifier (PA) Bulb Optics Enclosure
HOW LI-FI WORKS ? operational procedure is very simple if the LED is ON, you transmit a digital 1’sif its OFF you transmit a 0’s. The LEDs can be switched ON and OFF very quickly, which gives nice opportunities for transmitting data.
DATA TRANSMISSIONS
DATA TRANSMISSIONS USING LI-FI
Giga shower GIGA MIMOFor giga-speed technologies, the Li-Fi Consortium defined GigaShower, GigaSpot and GigaMIMO models
DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE TECHNOLOGIES
APPLICATIONS ON OCEAN BEDS RF restricted Environments Hospitals(In few medical instruments Street lamps(as free access points) In Aircraft cabins
IN RF RESTRICTED ENVIRONMENTS
HOSPITALS(IN FEW MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS)
STREET LAMPS(AS FREE ACCESS POINTS)
IN AIRCRAFT CABINS
MERITS
High Security Easy To Use Fast Data Transfer Reliable Harmless ness Low Cost
DE-MERITS light can't pass through objects Connectivity while moving
Interferences from external light sources like sun light, normal bulbs, and opaque materials in the path of transmission will cause interruption in the communication.
CONCLUSION The possibilities are numerous and can be explored further. If This technology can be put into practical use, every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit wireless data and we will proceed toward the cleaner, greener, safer and brighter future.
