Living Lifestyle Technical Specification. Living Lifestyle pays a lump sum for a claim arising from any critical illness that is covered under the 30 defined benefit categories. Personal cover. This meets the need of lifestyle adjustments should your client become critically ill - such as needing house and vehicle modifications and certain expenses related to lifestyle changes. It helps pay extra costs in the critical period of the illness – such as transport to treatment centres, someone to help with looking after children, purchasing cosmetic aids such as wigs etc. It can be used to cover ongoing family expenses. It helps repay loans and debt should your clients become critically ill. Business cover. This insures your client’s business against a key individual becoming critically ill. It allows business partners to cover the costs of having to find a similarly skilled professional to take over the role of the business partner while they are unable to contribute towards their share of interest in the business. Comprehensiveness of cover. No Survival Period. Claims can be submitted immediately following the diagnosis of a covered condition. 30 benefit categories cover a comprehensive range of critical illness conditions. Including a trauma category. Cover also includes a Catch-All benefit category. For illnesses not specifically listed in the other 29 benefit categories, but which meet one of the following claims criteria: Terminal illness definitions (life expectancy of 12 months or less). Activities of Daily Living claims criteria. Whole Person Impairment claims. All benefit categories are reinstated for future, totally unrelated, claims. The highest pay-out percentage will be paid for claims falling into more than one benefit category.

Living Lifestyle Technical Specification.

Financial planning.Your clients have a choice of different premium patterns upfront to suit their individual affordability needs.

The built-in feature of an Offer of Additional Cover, gives your clients the ability to increase their cover, hassle free, within 24 months of underwriting.

› They can increase cover by any amount up to the original cover amount, subject to an overall policy limit of R5m, without further medical underwriting, and subject to a declaration of health, within 24 months of the original underwriting.

› Clients in rating categories 1 and 2 with Whole of Life, cover may be eligible. › Underwriting will determine if your client qualifies for an offer of additional cover, based on their rating

category and the outcome of their assessment.

Financial underwriting rules may apply. › These financial underwriting rules are based on the chosen cover amount and your client’s annual income:

› The maximum Critical Illness cover amount that your client may qualify for, will be determined by financial underwriting rules.

› Aggregation will apply to all in-force cover that forms part of your client’s current portfolio. › In force cover includes active Lifestyle Protector and legacy Living Lifestyle benefits. › There will not be aggregation of other policies with competitors in determining the maximum amount. › The following benefits will not affect the size of the cover available on the Living Lifestyle benefit:

› Living Lifestyle Protector › Female Living Lifestyle › Child Living Lifestyle

Term cover with a fixed time frame. › Pay-out feature; premiums on qualifying benefits are paid back at the policy end date. › It may be suitable for certain impaired lives that would not qualify for Whole of Life cover. › It is available on Level Premium Pattern, only.

Flexibility in cover.Unique benefits tailored for specific needs

› Female Living Lifestyle › Child Living Lifestyle

Top-Up option increases payout to 100% › 100% of the sum assured will be paid for certain “Benefit Categories”, where the severity is such that only

25%, 50% or 75% of the sum assured would have been paid, if this option was not selected.

Extended option for less severe conditions - increasing breadth of conditions covered › Either 5% or 10% of the “Living Lifestyle” sum assured is paid in the event of certain specified claim events

occurring.

Top-up and Extended option › Payout is a combination of the “Top-up” and the “extended” options. › Automatically added to term policies. › Severity

Comprehensiveness in claim.Ensuring claim payout by enhancing claim definitions with the latest medical advancements:

› “Medical Advancement Protection” (MAP) allows future claims to be considered for payment where a medical classification system, diagnostic test or investigation, or medical surgery or procedure relating to a claim definition becomes outdated and is no longer a standard of clinical care due to medical advancements.

Allowing for multiple claims when: › Your client’s condition worsens or they suffer a related claim and now qualify for a higher percentage

of payout level, subject to the benefit balance remaining after claims are already paid.

› Your clients suffers a new condition which is totally unrelated to previous claims which have been admitted.

Payout on stroke with full recovery.

Bonuses. Clients who qualify for the ADDLIB and Wellness Bonus, get up to 50% of their qualifying Lifestyle Protector premiums back, in cash, after five years from inception of the benefit.
