Health Care Administration major

the Limestone Health Care Administration program prepares those anticipating a ca-reer in administrative positions within the health care industry. students who are inter-ested in business, but who wish to contrib-ute to the physical and mental well-being of others, may consider this degree program. this major combines courses from a number of traditional academic fields to link the con-cerns of administration and health care.

Students in this field typically have interests in management, but may not wish to work in a traditional business environment. this pro-gram is designed so that students will be ex-posed to all areas of health care administra-tion including, finance, legal issues, politics, healthcare information systems, and eco-nomic issues surrounding the administration

and delivery of health care.

KAte (Knowledge Accessible Through Electronics):

The online library catalog is used to find books,

videos, music, manuscripts, and multimedia items

owned by Limestone.

Borrowing material: The Student Identification

Card (LCard) serves as the student's library card.

Students must present the ID card to check out

library material. Extended Campus students may

call or email the library for delivery of books.

Material will be mailed to the student’s home

address along with a prepaid label so that items

can be returned at no cost to the student.

PAsCAL Delivers: This rapid book-delivery

service is provided by South Carolina's virtual

academic library. PASCAL Delivers enables stu-

dents and faculty at South Carolina's institutions

of higher learning to request books from over 40

academic libraries in the state with the click of a

mouse. Information on how to access PASCAL

Delivers, make requests, and more can be found

interlibrary Loan: If a particular book or article

is not available through the Limestone College

Library or PASCAL Delivers, library staff can attempt

to borrow the item from another library. http://

NetLibrary (eBooks): Electronic books are

available 24/7 to any Limestone student who has

Internet access. In order to check out books

from the eBook site (NetLibrary), students must

create their own unique account. More informa-

Research Databases: Online databases pro-

vide a way to search for scholarly full-text articles,

magazine and newspaper articles, books, cita-

tions, music, and more. A.J. Eastwood Library

subscribes to a number of specialized databases

for various subjects. For more information, visit

electronic Journals: Used to search for a

specific journal or magazine title, the electronic

journals are also categorized by subject area.

Electronic journals can be found by selecting the

"Find Journals" tab on the library's home page.

Libguides: Research Guides are provided for

subject areas and/or a specific class. These guides

provide recommended reference titles, journals

(both online & print), and recommended research

databases. LibGuides are constantly being updat-

tutorials: Online tutorials covering topics such

as how to use the KATE Catalog, using Research

Databases, how to access eBooks, MLA & APA

Computer Workstations: The library’s com-

puters have Internet access and Microsoft Office.

Laptops: Laptops are available for use in the

library. They can be checked out for up to two hours

other services: Printing, Copying, Laminating,

Course Reserves: Material placed on reserve

for a certain class and/or professor will be held

behind the circulation desk. These items can be

checked out for up to 2 hours at a time and are

for use in the library only.
