Have You Found Him Yet?There is so much to find in a library, and no one is

more skilled at tracking things down than a librarian. Of course, the Where’s Wally? books are all about

searching and finding, so who better than Wally to help you teach your young visitors how to find what they’re

looking for on your shelves?

In this library activity pack, you’ll find a fun collection of materials you can use to introduce kids to the library, teach basic library skills and throw a

stripetastic Where’s Wally? party!

Here’s what you’ll find in this pack:• Where’s Wally Library Hunt Hold your own Where’s Wally? hunt by

hiding Wally and his friends, Woof, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard and Odlaw around the library. Then ask your Wally-watchers to find them.

• Alphabetising Alphabetising is an important library skill. Here, some wonderful book titles from Where’s Wally? The Wonder Book will help teach and reinforce this skill.

• Parts of a Book A fun way to learn about the parts of a book and about what information can be found on a book’s cover and in its first few pages.

• Shelving Scavenger Hunt This hunt through the shelves teaches book-finding skills and can help train volunteers in their reshelving responsibilities, too.

• Bookmarks So that kids can always find their place in the books they read and learn more about the world-travelling Wally!

• Where’s Wally? Word Search Invite kids to practise their searching and finding skills by spotting the Wally-ish words in this puzzle.

Here’s a library scavenger hunt that teaches book-finding and shelving skills. To prepare for this activity, fill out the form below and make photocopies. You will be dividing the group into pairs. Each pair will get a master copy of the form as well as a duplicate that has been cut into “call slips.”
