resource available to hospital staff from work or home

Staff Changes

Tina Casey , has joined the Geoff Marel Library team from

February 2018. She is working part time as a Library Technician

Tina has worked in medical libraries over the past ten years, and she brings a wealth of

knowledge and experience in working in medical libraries. She was most recently at the Can-

terbury Hospital Library.

We welcome Tina to the Geoff Marel Library

The database includes:

300+ electronic journals covering medical sciences and psychiatry.

Acclaimed textbooks covering 40 medical specialties, it also includes textbooks of

interest to other disciplines including Biological Sciences, Health Research and Psy-

chiatry

Medical and surgical videos ranging from practical demonstrations of anatomical

dissections to instructional clinical examination examples;

Images fully unlocked and discoverable for visual learning and for creating presenta-

tions.

Changes to the Library Catalogue

Library Services to Canterbury Hospital

The Geoff Marel Library will be providing library services to staff at Canterbury Hospital. The services in-

clude:

Lending books: Staff can borrow books using their registration with Canterbury Hospital Library. The

catalogue is available from the Library website or the SLHD Intranet.

New borrowers will need to complete a Borrower Registration with the Geoff Marel Library.

ATHENS E-Journals The Athens website for Canterbury Hospital will no longer be maintained or updat-

ed. For staff who require access to e-journals (e-books, ACORN Standards and the new database Clini-

calKey) will need to register for Athens access with the Geoff Marel Library. The registration form is

available from the Library website Or from:

https://www.slhd.nsw.gov.au/concord/Library/forms/athensform.html

Literature searches. Article, book, Standard requests. Canterbury Hospital staff can request these ser-

vices by completing the forms available from the library website.

Please note that all registration and service request forms have been updated to include staff from Can-

terbury Hospital.

From January 2018 SLHD and SWSLHD Libraries have separate Library Catalogues. The catalogue contains the

library holdings for Concord Hospital only. holdings for Concord Hospital only.

The new address is: http://library-catalog.slhd.nsw.gov.au/slhdvw/Vubis.csp

Registered borrowers can still renew their loans, reserve books or check their borrower record. Holds can

only be placed on the Catalogue by SLHD Concord and Canterbury Hospital staff and medical students.
