caves. We can group them into three main categories:animals, human figures and abstract signs. There are nopaintings of the landscape or plants.

More than nine hundred paintings are animals, but we can

only identify six hundred and five. There are many geometricpaintings, but only one human. There are a lot of horses:three hundred and sixty-four paintings. There are ninety

paintings of deer or stags, and about forty cows and fortybison. Four of the most famous paintings are big, black bulls.
