Guidelines:

Contestants shall be a bonafide student of the College of Information Technology of Liceo de Cagayan University.

Contest shall be on February 21, 2013 at IT-Lab2 or ASB-201 @ 2:00PM Maximum of Ten (10) participants per year level, however, IT-Wizards may accept more than

ten participants for a particular year level, provided that other year level does not exceed or has not completed the ten (10) maximum participants and the total number of participants from first year to fourth year does not exceed forty (40).

Contestants shall register before the contest proper [February 21, 2013-2:00PM]. Contestants should be at the venue by 30 minutes before the contest proper.

Mechanics for the Quiz Bee

I. Elimination Round – consists of “Easy & Average” Questions

a) All participants will sit on the seats provided by the Quiz Organizer (IT-Wizards) b) Easy & Average Round will be held. c) Participants shall answer Ten (10) questions for "Easy Round" with Three (3) points each for

every correct answer and another Ten (10) questions will be asked for "Average Round" with Five (5) points for every correct answer.

d) Only Top 15 participants can proceed to the “Final Round”.

II. Final Round – consists of “Difficult” Questions

a) Top 15 participants will proceed to this round and no other contestant shall remain in the venue if they do not qualify for the final round.

b) Difficult Round will be held c) Participants shall answer 10 questions and each question shall have 10 points for every correct

answer.

III. General Rules

a) All questions will be asked in English.

b) There will be 10 questions each for the Easy, Average, and Difficult Rounds.

c) Each question will be repeated twice.

d) 5 seconds will be given to answer the questions for the Easy and Average Rounds. Answers should be written in capital letters. (A, B, C, and D)

e) 10 seconds will be given to answer the questions for the Difficult Rounds.

f) Participants will individually be provided with two (2) clean sheet of paper. One for solving or computations and one for the answers.

g) Participants should stop writing after the allotted time. Nobody will be allowed to change or erase their answer.

h) The Quiz Bee master will tell the participants to raise their whiteboards to show their answers.

i) The Quiz Bee master will then repeat the question and announce the correct answer.

j) Only participants with correct answers will be called for Scoring.

k) The scorer will write the scores on the tally sheet and in the MS Excel and shall be projected on the screen if projector is available.

l) The participants with the four highest scores will be declared the Champion (Quiz Wizard 2013), First Runner-up, Second Runner-up and Third Runner-up respectively.

m) In case of a tie, a tie-breaking question will be asked to the participants. Whoever answers the correct answer first shall be declared winner for that particular place where they tied.

n) Winners will receive certificates and a cash prize depending on the budget given by the Student Body Organization (SBO) of the College of Information Technology, Liceo de Cagayan University.

A. Easy Total questions: 10

Point for each correct answer – 3 points

Total highest score: 30 points

B. Average

Total questions: 10



II. Final Round

C. Difficult

Total questions: 10



D. Tie-Breaker

Total questions: No fix number of questions.

Guidelines:

Contestants shall be a bonafide student of the College of Information Technology

of Liceo de Cagayan University.

Participants shall be a team consisting of two (2) bonafide students of CIT-

LDCU.

Contestants shall be at the venue and register themselves before the contest

proper.

The participants are given three (3) hours to solve the given problems.

Participants are allowed to bring notes, books, or printed materials as reference as

long as it is not electronic in nature.

Participants shall use the JCreator in creating their java programs.

Winner shall be identified based on the number of problems solved with least

time covered.

Winners shall receive certificates.

Contest Proper Rules:

1.) No talking to other teams, concentrate on your own work, and do not disturbed

others.

2.) Question should be addressed to assigned IT-Wizards officers.

3.) No opening of web browser(s) or other programs, only JCreator should be opened.

4.) Save your .java and .class file on a folder named with your group and assigned unit.

Example: C: desktop/teambanganWS14/problem1.

5.) If you need paper/pen, ask only to the assigned IT-Wizards officers.
