Cycleco has created a textile LCI database of more than 180 datasets. Currently, around thirty datasets were converted into ILCD format and uploaded on the Life Cycle Data Network. New data will regularly supply the database. Method: Compliance with ISO 14040 and 14044 methodological requirement. Deviations from the method have to be documented. Data quality: No data quality is required in the "entry-level" but he data quality has to be assessed using the ISO criteria and documented. Nomenclature: ILCD elementary flows have to be used. The ILCD Handbook provides guidance rules for the name and classification of processes, sources, flows and units. Documentation: Documentation must be written in the ILCD format and certain infor- mation must be provided to meet the "entry-level" requirement. Review: A critical review report have to be done, at least by an independent reviewer that has to fulfill the three qualifications of ISO 14025. Life Cycle Data Network Meeting the "entry-level" requirement is the key to ensure a certain level of quality, to keep a consistent database and to be accepted on the Life Cycle Data Network. Interested in publishing your data? Cycleco offers its expertise to assist the companies that wish to provide data on the Life Cycle Data Network. Indeed, Cycleco has all the skills regarding the management of the web infrastructure, the data conversion and the documentation in ILCD format. CONTEXT & OBJECTIVE It is recognized that the quality of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) relies partly on the quality of the data it uses. Otherwise, data of good quality are rarely easy to find. In order to improve the availability of LCA data, the European Commission has created an IT infrastructure: the Life Cycle Data Network (LCDN). Its aim is to gather data from different providers. All data have to respect some guidelines to be available in the Life Cycle Data Network to ensure the uniformity in terms of methodology and quality of the data. Cycleco has created a textile LCI database of more than 180 datasets. Currently, around thirty

datasets were converted into ILCD format and uploaded on the Life Cycle Data Network.

Method: Compliance with ISO 14040 and 14044 methodological requirement. Deviations

from the method have to be documented.

Data quality: No data quality is required in the "entry-level" but he data quality has to be

assessed using the ISO criteria and documented.

Nomenclature: ILCD elementary )ows have to be used. The ILCD Handbook provides

guidance rules for the name and classi, cation of processes, sources, )ows and units.

Documentation: Documentation must be written in the ILCD format and certain infor-

mation must be provided to meet the "entry-level" requirement.

Review: A critical review report have to be done, at least by an independent reviewer that

has to ful,ll the three quali, cations of ISO 14025.

Life Cycle Data Network Meeting the "entry-level" requirement is the key to ensure a certain level of quality, to keep

a consistent database and to be accepted on the Life Cycle Data Network.

Interested in publishing your data? Cycleco o1ers its expertise to assist the companies that wish to provide data on the Life

Cycle Data Network. Indeed, Cycleco has all the skills regarding the management of the web

infrastructure, the data conversion and the documentation in ILCD format.

CONTEXT & OBJECTIVE It is recognized that the quality of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) relies partly on the quality of the data it uses. Otherwise, data of good quality

are rarely easy to ,nd. In order to improve the availability of LCA data, the European Commission has created an IT infrastructure: the Life Cycle

Data Network (LCDN). Its aim is to gather data from di1erent providers. All data have to respect some guidelines to be available in the Life Cycle

Data Network to ensure the uniformity in terms of methodology and quality of the data. Cycleco is involved in this project by providing textile

datasets.

companies over the world to develop

the textile database.

Use of LCA expert software.

mentation (complete and detailed

dation of inventories according to the

"entry level" mode of ILCD.

Where to 3nd the textile data?

Spin’It All LCI for textile are already available in Spin’IT, the LCA software developed by

CYCLECO for the textile sector. The extension of the textile database to a broader

coverage of materials and processes is a constant e1ort of Cycleco.
