CAN WE LIVEON MARS?

In the simplest terms possible, yes, however there are many limitations. This pamplhet explains how to solve such complications to make life on Mars as much like life on Earth as pos-sible. Terraforming Mars is the most universally ac-cepted way to make Mars liveable. While it was once only talked about in sci-ence fiction novels, it be-came widely accepted in the last century because of Sci-entific advances claiming it’s a viable option. Ter-raforming involves warming Mars, building a habitable atmoshpere, and making sure that the atmosphere doesn’t get lost in space. It could take a few decades to Terra-form, so don’t picture this happening anytime soon, but don’t rule out the possibil-ity either. We propose sending sat-ellites out into space with mirror panels to orbit around Mars, to evenly dis-tribute more sunlight to

Mars. This would not only heat Mars up quite a bit, it would also be enough heat to melt the water covering Mars’ surface. That auto-matically solves the lack of water and the heat issue. After that we would send an installation of enough plants to grow and thrive on Mars, which would change the enviroment to a more oxygen rich atmoshpere. A lot of the problem with Mars’ at-mosphere currently is that it’s mostly comprised of Carbon Dioxide. The plants would quickly take care of that problem.

The Transition

The Transition to Life on Mars would not be an easy, cheap, nor quick one by any means. How-ever when considering our current state of living, it might be a worthwhile one. It would cost several bil-lion dollars in the instance that we wanted to execute a project like this, but in a situation where terraforming, and traveling to a distant planet is necces-sary, the money will not be hard to obtain.

As for the comfortableness of living on Mars, it would be very barren, but have more open space than Earth. It wouldn’t be anything like Earth, but it could be better if all of the terrafor-ming techniques went as according to plan. This sort of process would at least take decades to achieve. It would take nearly a decade alone to get all of the supplies to Mars to terraform it, much less transport people, so there wouldn’t be frequent trips.
