Facility Information:
At Life Savers Emergency Room, we have state of the art equipment such as X-Ray, CT
Scanner, Ultrasound and more. We are fully equipped and have highly trained staff ready to
treat a variety of medical conditions including stat lab services.
Several of our physicians work at major hospitals with average wait times of 4-5 hours. Unlike
the hospital emergency rooms, our facility has a strict No Wait policy.
With the Pre-Arrival Check-In on our website, we are prepared in advance for your visit and
are ready to care for you!
While you receive your care, we have a full service coffee bar available for your loved ones.
We also have a dedicated kid’s corner to keep your little one(s) occupied while you get the
attention you need. Our pediatric room is specifically tailored to sooth your child and ease the
stress of their medical condition.

Billing Policy:
At the time of your visit, your emergency room co-pay will be collected, and we will bill your
insurance carrier for your policy’s emergency room benefits.
Emergency rooms must maintain an extremely high level of preparedness in order to
effectively treat emergency medical conditions. This level of preparedness is considerably
higher than at other, more traditional medical facilities. Emergency rooms charge a facility fee
for each patient visit to help offset the recurring costs associated with maintaining this high
level of preparedness. This is done to ensure you have access to an environment that provides
the best in emergency care. The facility fee is a charge that is calculated on a point system,
which is based on procedures performed, patient acuity, potential liability, and the complexity of
the physician/patient interaction.
If you have any questions regarding your bill, please contact the ER. We will work with you
quickly to explain our billing method and resolve any differences.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR EMERGENCY ROOM BILL
ER billing is a complicated and confusing process. At Life Savers ER, we strive to be fair and
transparent with our billing. We want to help you understand the bills you receive from us,
which may be different from medical bills you’ve received from hospitals or physicians.
Life Savers ER is a licensed freestanding emergency center. We function just like a hospital-
based emergency room, but our ER billing is very different. Instead of receiving multiple bills
for a single emergency room visit, Life Savers ER submits one claim to your insurance
company. Your insurance company will not be charged separately for radiology, pathology, or
cardiology over-reads, as is the case with hospital-based ERs. Instead, these charges are
included in your facility bill.
IN-NETWORK VS. OUT OF NETWORK BILLING
According to Texas Guidelines, all insurance carriers are required to pay in-network benefits
for any member seeking emergency medical treatment. Texas law requires that your insurance

carrier pay for your emergency care, whether the emergency room is in-network or out-of-
network. The state of Texas empowers you to use a prudent layperson standard when
considering what constitutes an emergency.
If your insurance company refuses payment for your emergency room visit, you can file a
grievance with the Texas Department of Insurance. To learn more about the Texas Department
of Insurance, please visit www.tdi.state.tx.us.
Life Savers ERs billing policy is to always honor the in-network fee for services provided. This
ensures you do not end up with a bill for your emergency room visit that your insurance
company refuses to cover.
ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT FOR CARE
For individuals without insurance or who are covered by CHIPS, Medicare or Medicaid, we
accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards, including: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover
Card.
MOST HEALTH INSURANCE PLANS ACCEPTED
At Life Savers ER, we accept nearly all private insurance plans, including: Aetna, United
Health, Humana, Cigna and BlueCross / BlueShield. When you are in need of emergency
medical care, your insurance provider is required by Texas law to pay for your emergency
medical treatment. Whether we are part of your insurance network or not, we honor in-network
billing rates. This means you will pay the least amount possible for your visit. You will be
responsible for the percentage of your emergency room bill required by your insurance plan. At
the end of your visit, you will be asked to pay your emergency room copay.
What is a free-standing emergency room?
Life Savers Emergency Room is a free-standing emergency room. A free-standing ER is a
medical facility that is not attached to a hospital, but functions exactly like a hospital based ER.
We are open to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the treatment of any emergency.
We are licensed by the Department of State Health Services to provide a high standard of
quality. Although we are not located inside a hospital, we are equipped with the same services
required of the hospital. We are also staffed with equally skilled doctors and nurses, the same
ones who work in the hospital ER. How are free standing ERs different from urgent care
centers? Does Life Savers Emergency Room accept my insurance? What if I'm currently
experiencing problems with my insurance company? What if my condition requires me to stay
in the hospital overnight? What happens if my condition requires further immediate care or
surgery? What if I have questions about my bill and payments?

How are free standing ERs different from urgent care centers?
Life Savers Emergency Room is equipped and staffed the same as a hospital ER. Our board
certified physicians are able to provide the same care they provide at major hospitals in a more
relaxed and efficient environment. The ICU and ER trained nurses are able to provide
individualized care to patients and their families. We have a No Wait policy, which can be
compared to the average 4 hour wait times seen at most hospitals. We have no parking
hassles, traffic hindrances and other barriers to you getting the care you need.
Hospital ERs are notoriously understaffed and overcrowded, leading to frustrate and unhappy
people taking care of your loved ones. Well-meaning doctors and nurses are stretched thin in
their attempt to provide compassionate care to a large number of people. At Life Savers
Emergency Room, we are able to provide efficient, patient centered, safe and compassionate
care 24/7. We are dedicated our patients’ satisfaction. Does Life Savers Emergency Room
