2016 New Year Message

A BLESSED 2016 NEW YEAR WISH

2015 was an amazing journey for 7C. It was a year filled with many events which successfully increased the

awareness of 7C. We have continued to grow and are blessed with such amazing individuals who came

together to be part of the 7C family. A heartfelt thank you to all for being a part of us. Thank you for mak-

ing us a part of your life, for making us who we are today.

We have been blessed to be part of events organized by well-known organizations such as Cansurvive and

Pure Life Society. Our esteemed Swami Guru Sri Kriyathasa Sekar was the guest of honor at the 8th Swami

Satyananda Memorial Lecture and at the 5th Malaysian International Conference on Holistic Healing for

Cancer where he delivered talks to much applause. We would like to thank Datin Paduka Mother Man-

galam and Dr. Siby for the blessed opportunities given. Our loving thank you also goes out to Amma Sri

Karunamayi who made it possible for us spend the last days of the year as a co-organizer for the 2015 Atir-

udram Mahayajnam & Maha Kumbhabishegam at Draksharamam, Andra Pradesh. We are truly blessed

and humbled with the extraordinary opportunity given to our family. We now welcome 2016 with love

and blessings for all.

2016

The year 2016 marks our 7th year in existence. As we step into this year, we expect 2016 to be another year

that will be similar to 2015 but with better, if not greater opportunities for all. Greater opportunities will

be for those who have a positive perspective to life. It will be a good time to look into investments within

the first quarter of the year. Travels for the year will be a cautious affair for some.

Everyone should spend time to look for these opportunities. This is a year of creativity and innovation. Ex-

pand your horizon and depth of thinking. You will be amazed with the new innovative ideas that will

come by in 2016. This is a great year to look forward to.

COMMUNITY

7C Life will be more focused on personal and community development initiatives from the second half of

2016. We expect to start more community integration programs in this year. Our vibrant youth team has

been very successful in organizing the Chaperonage2015 program. It was a beautiful event not only for our

7C family, but for all those who participated in it as well. We want our youth to participate in healthy and

progressive activities. We will continue with the Chaperonage program in 2016 and also welcome more

2016 New Year Message ideas to enhance our Youth and Community integration programs.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

On personal development initiatives, we will continue with our successful meditation and life coaching

sessions. We are also planning to restart our speaker series program which will help people understand

how to manage their daily lives better. These sessions bring better values when it is conducted as dialogue

sessions. As such, we will announce a new dialogue series beginning from the second quarter of 2016.

There will be 4 “Dialogue with Guru” sessions that will be held. We welcome contributions for topics of

interest to be discussed.

7C LIFE and 7CHAKRAM

In 2016 we plan to manage the religious and spiritual aspects of 7C separately as we have realized that dif-

ferent people come to 7C for different purposes. This will begin in July 2016. 7C Life will be focused on

people and community, while 7Chakram will be focused on religious and spiritual teachings. This is to ca-

ter for our family who hail from different walks of life, culture and believes.

Purpose of 7C

Our purpose is to teach life and how it should be lived RIGHT in an individual’s own perspective. We do

not encourage followers, though we know that there are many seeking to be one. We always remind you

to take charge of your life. We have been successful in making that change to every single person who has

become part of this great family. The success is only possible due to the tremendous support received from

each one of you. The contributions in cash, kind and services that you have rendered, has made us stronger

to serve you better. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and pray that the Great Divine shower

Their blessings on each one of us and our families.

May 2016 bring lots of joy, peace and blessings to all of us. Wishing all a blessed 2016. Happy New Year.

With Blessings,

Swami Guru Sri Kriyathasa Sekar

& 7C Life Family

Celebration of Life: Deepavali, the Festival of Lights

The 7C Family came together on the auspicious occasion of Deepavali for a special Mahalakshmi Pooja to

usher in the energy of prosperity and happiness. Many of our dear family members joined us on this

blessed day on 10 November 2015. Dressed in our best in vibrant colors, it was a blessed occasion which

started off the joyous Festival of Lights with happiness, contentment and prosperity.

Our Deepavali Open House was held by the 7C Life Youth Team on 22 November 2015. This was a another

vibrant and joyous occasion which brought together even more beloved members who brought along their

family and friends. With scrumptious food, laughter, music and dance, it was indeed a memorable occa-

sion for all of us. Here are some pictures from both celebrations:

Celebration of Life: Birthday Celebration of Maha Avatar Kriya Babaji

7C Life celebrated the birthday of the Indian saint and yogi, Maha Avatar Kriya Babaji on 29 November

2015. This was a much joyous occasion for us, as our meditations are based on the teachings of Babaji.

Born on 30 November 203 CE, Maha Avatar Kriya Babaji had for centuries lived in the Himalayas guiding

many spiritual teachers at a distance, usually without them even knowing it. Also known as Kriya Babaji:

Kriya meaning “action in awareness” and Babaji means a revered and honored person, Kriya Babaji is a

great Divine Master who had overcome ordinary human limitations and who worked silently, behind the

scenes for the spiritual evolution of all humanity. He is supreme and unparalleled among all saints and

sages. He assumes an all-compassionate, beautiful, luminous form to provide an experience of new life to

confused, grieving, fearful, despondent, and doubtful people, showing them the highway to God-

realization.

Here are some pictures from the joyous occasion:

Ati Rudram Maha Yajnam & Maha Kumbhabhisegam 2015

From December 20-25 2015, 7C Life was blessed to be part of the utmost tribute in prayer form to Lord

Shiva: the much revered Atirudram prayers (which is the highest form of worship to Lord Shiva) &

Bheemeshwara Swamy Temple Kumbhabhishegam. This event took place in the town of Draksharamam

in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, India. Organized with the Sri Matrudevi Vishwashanthi

Ashram Trust, it was a truly blessed event which brought together thousands of devotees from many re-

gions and countries.

Our beloved members who took part in the prayers went through fasting and preparatory prayers for 48

days prior to the prayer ceremony. We were even blessed to personally perform the yajnam and were given

the opportunity to volunteer throughout the event.

This journey also brought our 7C Family to the Balatripurasundari Temple in Kakinada and also the Goda-

vari River. We were featured in a local daily, the Sakshi Telugu Daily after the prayer session at the Bala-

tripurasundari Temple, where we were blessed to perform the Kungkumum Archanai.

The Ati Rudram Maha Yajnam and Maha Kumbhabhisegam was an amazing journey for all who attended. In their own words, here are some testimonials from our dear members who would like to share a part of this invaluable experience: "My heartfelt thanks to Guruji and the 7C organizing committee for making this spiritual and joyful trip a possibility for all of us. This journey of self discovery has opened my heart to the greatness of GOD. In just a few days I have seen, heard and felt the devotion, gratitude, love and happiness around me. No words can describe how these wonderful feelings have affected me.

A truly memorable trip, more so with all the members on this trip. It felt like one big happy family and I truly cherished that.

Once again kudos to the organizing team Karthick, Krishna, Darshini, Mohan, Rajan, Suresh, Subha, Subathra, Malini and Salin. For those who I have missed out, my thanks to you too for making this trip a possibility”. - Suresh Kumar- "It was truly a divine journey with lots of fun . We created a great bond not just with the temple but among all of us as well. Great people, great company and I truly cherish every moment of this trip: I never felt tired or exhausted at a soul level.

This journey tells and reminds me of how life is actually supposed to be. We are all truly blessed to experience all of them from our cosmetic- materialistic life."

Thank you, Guruji & the 7C Team. -Shogi- “It was a wonderful trip filled with lots of spiritual experiences that words cannot explain. The Bhimeswara Swamy Temple and all 7C family members were simply amazing . Lord Shiva showed us everything on this trip... ….what Life is all about, from the beginning till the last day. Guruji's discourses were fantastic; Karunamayi Amma’s simple teaching of "Always move forward like the river"; and the “Kasturi's awesome buffet" are all memorable events that will last with me forever. Thank you very much Guruji & the 7C Committee members -Geetha-

Always full of wisdom, these words are from Swami Guru Sri Kriyathasa Sekar who is always delivering much needed messages for all of us. Taken from daily conversations, emails and messages, we hope these messages from Guruji will help you with your daily undertakings. “ The existence of “I” causes me to suffer”. “Learn how to surrender and accept, not accept and surrender”. “The minute you surrender, you have already accepted God”. “Blockage of Contentment, is in you”. “No one is greater than God, and nothing is greater than Faith” “Mistakes are not mistakes. It is the Divine helping us to surrender what we “think” is right”.

Words of Wisdom By Guruji Sekar

“If you can Love God whom you cannot see,

You surely can Love everyone whom you CAN see.

If you cannot Love all whom you can see,

Then you have yet to Love God.

Understand, Reflect, Change and Live”

What is “Life Realization Retreat”?

The Life Realization Retreat is a 3 days 2 night retreat where participants will be able to understand themselves better and learn to live Life with a new perspective

How is it done?

Each day during the retreat begins with yoga sessions. Throughout the days, participants will attend multiple types of meditation sessions. These sessions are different from the ones held at the centre. During the sessions, the energy center within ourselves will be activated and balanced. The energy centers, also known as chakras, will then be aligned, synchronized and harmonized with each other and the Universe.

Types of meditation sessions during the retreat

Participants will be able to experience new and different types of meditation sessions. Sessions in the past retreats have included sleeping meditation, water meditation and walking meditation. Even chakra meditations held differ from the normal sessions held at the centre. A good example would be sessions which introduces participants to a fast paced “on-the-spot jog” and another which requires dance-like graceful movements.

The Grand Finale

The grand finale would be the inner journey session. During this session, participants will go on a journey to experience and understand their true Self. Participants will also be enlightened on what changes need to be done to enhance Life. You will leave with life realized.

Meditation is an important tool in our day to day lives. It is practiced widely nowadays. Some of us meditate on a daily basis, some of us on a weekly basis. And yet, how many of us are able to explain the importance of meditation? Why do we meditate? Today’s Life Coaching article helps us find and apply the value of meditation in our day to day lives. The Value of Meditation Meditation.

What is meditation? Meditation means different things for each of us.

For some of us, helps us sleep. For some, meditation helps to calm the

mind. For others, it is seen as a deep state of relaxation.

All of these are perfect answers.

And yet, when we look at them closely, we can see that all the answers given show that we

are running away from something: things that are taking up much of our time, emotion and

space.

The day to day life events create a burden for us, causing us to have a need to be more

focused, more relaxed and calmer. It is causing us to find solutions, to seek answers. It

makes us turn to meditation.

But how much of the value from meditation are we applying in

our daily lives? The peace that we seek from meditation is only

temporary. The value from meditation is what we need. And

these values, once applied, will make peace permanent in our

lives.

When answers found in meditation are not applied into the source, we get into the same

cycle of events. It will repeat again and again and again. Nothing changes in our life.

Meditation will just be like having a great cup of coffee: it just relaxes us for that moment.

This is not what meditation should be.

Life Coaching

Page 14: life thru WISDOM - 7C Life Realization Center7clife.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/7C-Life-Newsletter...life thru WISDOM 2016 is here, and we welcome the new year warmly into our lives

14

Meditation should help us be non-reactive towards stressful

events in our lives. When the values of meditation are applied

in our daily life, we will see that the world did not change, but

rather our perspective or perception towards the world has:

and that the world is now a greater world to live in. We will

see the beauty in the world, the peace in the world, the

happiness in the world.

The world is not lost, it is us who is lost: lost in ourselves, in

our own mind. We have forgotten to see the beauty and happiness that actually already

exists.

The world will now be a greater world for us. We will be able to see the beauty and

happiness in the world. We will be able to look at everyone with calmness and

peacefulness and smile at them. We will be able to project peace unto others.

How do we do this?

We need to bring the value of meditation into us first. We need to understand that deep

sense of calm, peace and focus of our thoughts. How many thoughts came to mind during

meditation? Some had many thoughts, some had five. It may seem like many thoughts, but

it is actually lesser thoughts compared to when we are not meditating. These thoughts are

the issues that are currently affecting our life.

If we see fire starting near us, do we pour water away from the

fire or on the source of the fire? Naturally, we will want to put

out the fire, we will pour water on the source before it spreads.

This is the same with the thoughts that come to our mind

during meditation: these are the 5 or 6 or more thoughts that

are messing up our life right now.

Even the good that is supposed to happen to us are messed up by these thoughts. Why?

Because we are not aware of the good things that are happening to us. We are only focused

with these 5 or more issues.

So what can we do to allow these good things to take place in our life?

Simple: just throw away that 5 or more thoughts in our mind, and all

answers will fall into place.

Page 15: life thru WISDOM - 7C Life Realization Center7clife.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/7C-Life-Newsletter...life thru WISDOM 2016 is here, and we welcome the new year warmly into our lives

15

We do not need to find the answers for the 5 thoughts. Just throw them away. Why?

Because right now our mind is focused on these 5 thoughts, and we are not seeing the

beauty in everything else in this life.

Throw it away, do not look for answers.

Calm the mind.

When calmness is there, we will be able to see the

solution for everything else. In that calmness, pick one

of the 5 thoughts and look at it. We will now be able to

see that issue in a different manner and will be able to

find the simplest answer.

This is the same as us having the flu, and complaining of headache and body ache to the

doctor. The doctor will treat us for the flu, and explain that the headache and body ache are

caused by the flu. They are not going to treat us for body ache or headache, but the source

of the ache. When the flu is isolated, everything else disappears. This is the same with the 5

thoughts that we had.

So now, all we need to do is to write down all the thoughts that

came to mind during meditation, and consciously throw it away.

Just tell yourself that these issues do not matter, that we do not

need to find an answer. An answer will come when the time comes.

Throw it away. That is all we need to do. We will automatically be

at peace. This is the value of meditation.

Page 16: life thru WISDOM - 7C Life Realization Center7clife.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/7C-Life-Newsletter...life thru WISDOM 2016 is here, and we welcome the new year warmly into our lives

16

The thoughts that we have during meditation are the answer to our problems: these are the

things that we do not need in life. As simple as that. If we are at peace, it means that we

have thrown away everything. If we fall asleep during meditation, it means that we have

done better: we have thrown away everything and did not even think about it. That is how

simple it is. A rejuvenated feeling after meditation is even better. The issue was thrown

away, leaving us peaceful and relaxed, and then meditation recharged us. Is it not beautiful?

This is the value of meditation.

We may not be able to meditate with everyone, but we are able to

spread the value of meditation to others. Smile at everybody, even

strangers. This is us practicing the value of meditation in our daily

life.

Life is simple. Enjoy it.

Swami Guru Sri Kriyathasa Sekar

Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from medita-tion?” He replied, “Nothing!” “However,” Buddha said, “let me tell you what I lost: anger, anxiety, de-pression, insecurity, Fear of old age and death”.

Q & A With Guruji

Q & A with Guruji is a new segment that we have started for the benefit of all of our members. Taken

from various Life Coaching and discourse sessions with Guruji, these consist of not only questions on

meditation, but also on all aspects of Life. We hope that this segment will help answer questions on

happenings in our day to day lives.

Question: Most people in Asian cultures do not take photos of 3 people together in one photo. It

is a taboo. Why is this so? What is the rationale behind it?

Answer: In the early days of photography, huge flashes were a necessity for photography. It was believed that the sudden huge flash of light frightens the soul, scaring it away. It was widely believed that when 3 people take a photograph, one soul would leave, and 2 would be left behind.

In Vedic times, there was no photography. If taking pictures of 3 people would cause an issue, it

would certainly be written down by at least one sage or Rishi. After all, the Tri-murthi consists of 3 Gods: Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. If it is an issue, pictures of the Trinity would not exist. This

is a mere superstition.

Question: When something bothers my mind, I tend to throw that thought away and not think about it.

Yet, at times, I check on the issue. Does this feed the issue more energy? If I ignore it, am I

being ignorant? Would it lead to something worse?

Answer: When you think about any issue that you have thrown, even for a little while, the actual fact is that

you have not let go of that thought. First of all, ask yourself if you need that particular issue. If you do need it, are you worried that

something negative might happen from that issue? You need to make a choice. You need only one choice. For example, imagine you want a pet. Firstly, you would imagine what type of animal you want. Next, you will imagine that the animal is happy being with you. As we know, death is

inevitable. When you imagine having a pet, do you see the animal being dead? Do you see it being sick in the beginning itself?

The worst can always happen at any moment. But we do not need to focus on that. We can always focus on the happy pet that we are going to get, rather than thinking about the pet dying and how it will affect you. There is always a positive and negative aspect to everything in Life. All we need to

do is to focus on the positive aspects, as living is about being in the moment. It is not about fearing

the inevitable future. It is about this moment.

Am I happy now? Can I be happy with what I have now? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. This is all you need. If you can be happy now with what you have, happiness will

compound itself and all negativity will either not affect you or have a very minimal effect which you will be able to manage yourself. Fear in any situation exists because you do not want to end up suffering or managing it. But if you are happy from the beginning, it would not be painful at all.

If you want to move from one job to another job, look at the new job with the positive energy that

you will be happy with it. Do not look at it with any negativity. Do not worry about the office

politics that may arise. Every job everywhere has its politics. You can choose not to be part of it and enjoy a great life.

Being part of 7C Life has changed life positively for all. Many have been part of 7C Life since it was

founded. Today, we have testimonials from two wonderful family members who have not only experienced many positive changes in their life, but who also are very much a part of each and every activity conducted

here. Also part of the 7C Youth team, here are their testimonials:

“Just by noticing a little difference in my cousin sister, Pushpam, the only thing I asked her was "What caused the changes?". Without any hesitation, she said “Come to this place on Sunday morning and find out for yourself”. My inner feeling told me not to question anything and just go.

That special Sunday morning is still fresh on my mind. Full of curiosity and anxiety, I came to this place called 7C Life Realization Centre. I attended the meditation session and that particular day was the Heart Chakra meditation. I realized that it was meant for me. I really felt so in touch with 7C and that was my very first time in a meditation session in my entire life. Meeting the 7C family gave me a lot of love and a secured feeling.

Without being forced, I made it a point to attend the meditation sessions once a week. These classes which focus on meditating on the 7 chakras, sharing sessions and Life Coaching by Guruji changed my perception towards life and my surroundings. I am lucky to be showered by blessings and guidance from Divine and Guruji . It has made me the person I am today. Any problem and challenge that I face feels like it is not at all a burden and solutions just come along. The most important thing that I learnt from 7C is about being myself and knowing that all religion is one.

Attending various events hosted by 7C has really given me a great impact in my life. The biggest impact was the retreat that I attended which gave me an insight of myself and the Universe, and I have learnt to respect and appreciate myself even more ever since. Everyday seems to be a blessing and my gratitude towards Divine never fails. Thank you Divine, thank you Guruji and thank you 7C family.

-Sharmila Joseph-

“When I first came to 7C, it was during a life coaching and meditation session. It was the first time I met Swami Guru Sri

Kriyathasa Sekar. On that day's session He talked about the Self ; about knowing the Self and being your true Self without

regard to what was going on in the world. The teachings by Swami Guru made a positive

impact on me. That eye opening session as well other sessions I attended gave me more

interest in understanding spiritual knowledge. It was definitely a paradigm
