How to use this booklet

This document was written by Life

Without Barriers in Easy English.

We use pictures to explain some ideas.

This document explains why Life

Without Barriers wants to give more jobs

to people with disability.

Life Without Barriers provides support

services for:

- people with disability

- older people

- families, and

- children,

so they can have live life the way they

want to.

We know that having a job allows people

to have a better life and feel good about

themselves.

Life Without Barriers believes everyone

has the right to get a job, if they choose

to.

But, people with disability often find it

harder to get a job than people without a

disability.

In fact, the number of people with

disability who cannot find a job is two

times higher than people who don’t have

a disability

We want to change that.

We want to make it easier for people

with disability to find a job they enjoy.

To help do this, Life Without Barriers has

made a promise to support people with

disability to work with us.

We call this promise ‘Our Commitment’.

OUR COMMITMENT

Life Without Barriers will promote

all the great things that people with

disability bring to any workplace.

Life Without Barriers will give more

jobs to people with disability.

By the year 2022, 12% of all new

people we hire will be people with

a disability.

Life Without Barriers will

encourage other companies to

also give more people with

disability jobs.

Life Without Barriers will talk to

other organisations about old

ideas that may stop them from

giving jobs to people with

disability.

If a person with disability would

like to work with Life Without

Barriers, we will try very hard to

help them to achieve that.

Life Without Barriers will talk to

them about what they need, and

what we can do better, so they feel

comfortable and happy at work.

Life Without Barriers will always

focus on a person’s strengths, not

their disability, when deciding if

they should do a job.

Life Without Barriers will continue

to find ways to improve how we

work to make it easier for people

with disability.
