Dear Claudia and Hichem,

I hope you are well. We have finished the tagging of young storks and now wait impatiently for them to start their migration. The tagging in Spain and Russia went very well. Unfortunately, we are losing the first birds already. Some youngsters don't survive their first trips.

I am also concerned about one of your birds (DER AP806, tag 2758). It has left the nest for the first time on the morning of July 19, but it has not returned to the nest since then and it moves almost nothing. It is very unusual for a young bird to not move around and to not return to the nest. Although I am not entirely sure, I assume that something has happened to it. It's last location is Latitude 37.017 and Longitude 9.882. You can also see it very well in MoveBank.

Do you think you could ask people from the farm to look for the stork, or maybe you'll find some time yourself to go there. This would be very helpful. If you find the stork, it would be nice if you could take a picture, or try to find out why it died.

Thank you very much in advance!

All the best,Andrea
