Craft Steps

Lighthouse

• Tape • Scissors • Foil / cellophane • Coloured card • Long stick or dowel

Follow the below steps to make your Lighthouse. Or you can work along with us on the Craft Video!

1. Begin by drawing stripes onto one of your cups and the sheet of card.

2. Now make the main cylinder shape of the lighthouse by rolling the sheet of card into a tube and securing with tape. Make sure it fits inside the paper cup.

3. Use a pencil to make a hole in the middle of the top of the paper cup.

4. Attach the cup to the top of the tube using tape. This will be the top of the lighthouse.

5. With the second paper cup, push a hole into the side of the cup using a pencil. This cup will become the light on top of the lighthouse.

6. To make the light, fold up some foil or cellophane and place tape it into the paper cup so some flows out.

7. Cut out some window and door shapes from some coloured paper and stick them onto the cylinder part of the lighthouse.

8. Take a long stick push it up through the middle of the cardboard tube then through the hole you made in the top of the cup. Make sure you keep pushing the stick through so some is sticking out the end.

9. Now attach the light cup by pushing the stick through the hole in the side of the cup. You don’t want this to move around so use some tape to secure it if the hole is not tight enough.

10. Now you will be able to hold the stick and swivel it around so that the light shines in all directions.
