Labour and skill shortages will rise in the European countries over the next decade, challenging economic growth prospects. Against this background, the improvement of the labour market outcomes of immigrants in their European receiving countries is a central issue to be addressed, in order to ensure that the potenal of immigrants’ skills for Europe’s economic growth is fully tapped. In this frame, the provision of coordinated lifelong learning and employa- bility guidance is of growing importance in all Member States. A consorum of seven partners from Spain, Norway, Greece, France, Cyprus and Austria, with relevant know-how and experse, will be responsible for the implementa- on of LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT from September 2014 ll August 2017. MAIN AIM The project LIGHTHOUSE intends to establish an innovave model and tools for supporng lifelong learning and ca- reer paths for migrants by tailored counselling and recognion of prior learning to improve skills, employability and mobility. Based on this main aim, project focuses on development of an innovave model inside VET organisaons for supporng lifelong learning and career paths for migrants – the LIGHTHOUSE - based on the combinaon of two suc- cessful frameworks: (i) The French system for the Recognion of non-formal and informal learning (ii) The LOT-House (“LOT” is short for “Lernen, Orieneren, Tun”/learning, orienng, doing): BEST created and implemented this concept aiming at empowering (long-term) unemployed and socially disadvantaged people from the region of Korneuburg (Lower Austria), in one of BEST’s training centres. The LOT house offers different themac learning zones: info, course, workshop, iniate and guides.LIGHTHOUSE project will take advantage of the cooperaon at European level of 7 or- ganizaons with large experience developing naonal, European and Internaonal projects directly related with the topics of LIGHTHOUSE (Counselling, Recognion of prior learning, Training, Employment and Mobility) and the target group of migrants: Leader country /organisaon: Spain / SSF - Spain / INFODEF - Austria / BEST - France / ITG CONSEIL - Norway / Rogaland School and Business Develop- ment - Greece / IASIS NGO - Cyprus / CARDET OUTPUTS 1.
