Fairchild now offerscustomers one-stop shopping from the logic control portion of the circuit to the isolated gate driver to the power IGBT/MOSFET. This combined solution converts the mW to kW providing electrical isolation between the primary and secondary circuits.

LED Drivers
Fairchild has a large portfolio of LED drivers for portable electronics that addresses various applications while offering designers many advantages. All of these LED drivers provide effi ciency ranges from 83% up to 92%, saving power consumption. A wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V provides fl exibility and helps simplify design challenges. These Fairchild lighting solutions use various types of interfaces such as analog PWM, digital dimming input, I2C and our proprietary TinyWire™ that enable programmability of the LED drivers to change the brightness levels of LEDs and program different blink rates enhancing the overal visual effect.

Typical Applications: Decoration indication and commercial
This solution is an isolated, primary-side regulated off-line AC-DC converter in fl yback topology. It has a universal input voltage range of 85VRMS to 265VRMS at a line frequency of 50Hz to 60Hz. It has one constant current output, that is selectable between 350mA and 700mA and offers a maximum output voltage of 17V. The FAN102 controller used in this design is a highly integrated green mode PWM controller.

Snubberless TRIAC Drive Optocouplers The optocouplers feature a built-in active dv/dt clamp providing best-in-class noise immunity (dv/dt) of 10,000V/µs, which is superior to the average dv/dt rating (1,500V/µs) of monolithic TRIAC drivers. This superior performance eliminates the RC snubber network required for lower dv/dt-rated monolithic opto TRIAC drivers. This saves valuable design time and reduces bill of materials (BOMs). High noise immunity makes these products ideal for noisy industrial environments as they offer a more robust solution for isolating solid-state relays, AC motor controls and lighting ballasts. The FOD41XX family features an integrated zero-cross inhibit circuit which prevents the device from switching near the peak of the AC mains. The FOD42XX are random phase drivers which allow the device to switch at any AC main voltage level.

Ballast Control ICsOptimized for an electronic ballast, these controllers require minimal board area and reduce component count. The controllers have many comprehensive protection features that work through fi lament failure, failure of a lamp to strike and automatic restarts.
High Voltage Gate Drivers (HVIC)These drivers improve system reliability by utilizing an innovative common-mode dv/dt noise canceling circuit that provides excellent noise immunity. With a voltage capability up to 600V and a very fast switching speed (dv/dt = 50V/ns (max.)), these drivers are optimal for driving MOSFETs and IGBTs in a wide array of applications.
