Timber Innovation Company (LIK) is Russian company engaged in harvesting and primary processing of wood, offers a wide range of the highest quality lumber products based on advanced technologies and European standards.

Pestovo wood processing plant, which produces softwood materials under the «LIK» trademark is located at the junction of three central regions of Russia - Vologda, Novgorod and Tver – in the city named Pestovo, a provincial center for wood processing in Russia. The distance from Pestovo to Moscow is about 400 km, to St. Petersburg - about 450 km.

The maximum lumber production output of Pestovo plant is 270 000 m3, and 60 000 m3 for the planed timber.

The plant produces standard lumber materials, sorted by strength and planed products from spruce and pine. The raw material comes from the company’s own timber, and also comes from the Vologda, Novgorod, Tver, Leningrad and Arkhangelsk regions. The raw material for planing comes with the sawmill.

Softwood timberAccording to the classification and dimensions comply with the standard EN 1313-1, the standard humidity is 18-20%. Humidity products meet the standard INSTA 141. Permissible fluctuations in the size and the restriction meet the standard ISO 738-1981 (E).

Special softwood timber Designed and produced by the end-user requirements, in particular, joinery and furniture production.

Lumber sorted by strengthProduced for housing construction, load-bearing structures and roofing and basement structures. They have a certain length and thickness of 42 or 48 mm. The standard length of about 3.6 - 6 m; the maximum length of 12.5 m spliced timber.

Planed productsIt includes a wide range of size and quality, depending on customer needs.

PRODUCTION

Products under the «LIK» trademark is well-known and sold on the Russian market and also exported to largest markets in Europe, Asia and Africa.

In 2015, softwood timber from Pestovo plant was exported to Austria, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, India, China, Japan and other countries.

WORLDWIDE SALES

In July 2015 the company completed verification under the FSC international certification program (Forest Stewardship Council) and was certified for compliance with the standards for «Forest management and sales of round wood» and «Procurement, production and sales of timber products». These certificates grant the right to use the FSC trademark on Pestovo plant products.

In December 2013 the plant received the certificate to use the CE marking.

All processes are under the internal control and audit service in accordance with the international management standards ISO 9001:2008 (quality management) and ISO 14001:2004 (environmental management).

Also the plant has its own labeling system.

CERTIFICATION

The total territory of the Pestovo plant is about 33 hectares. On 16 hectares the industrial buildings are located, and the rest - timber warehouses and access roads.

There are four railway deadlocks, two of them were designed for raw materials acceptance and coniferous balance shipment, another two - for the finished products shipment.

The Pestovo plant was designed and built by UPM Kymmene Oyj, one of the largest and well known Finnish forest industry company, in 2002. Manufacturing was launched in 2004. All plant equipment is supplied by Finnish companies, the best manufacturers of machinery for wood processing.

All production processes at the Pestovo plant are automated and logically lined up one after the other. In fact, under the one roof of timber-processing factory are located the sawing machinery, sorting, and drying installations.

Current products undergo regular inspection control for compliance with quality standards.

PRODUCTION

In 2015 there are more than 200 people working in the company. Most of them are working at Pestovo plantand for more than 5 years.

The company pays attention for staff development, safety and responsibility.

EMPLOYEES

LIK is one of the largest tenants of the forest in Novgorod region with 160,000 m3 allowable cut and the prospect of increasing it up to 600 000 m3.

Company is using own logging capacities and modern forestry equipment, which allows to significantly increase the quality of the logs input for the plant.
