SIMPLE SAVING TIPS FOR EVERYONE We are continuing with the saving tips this month and have you 5 more this month. Hope all are enjoying and being able to use at least some if not all. 60. Check out what your town’s parks and recreation board has to offer. My town has several wonderful parks, free basketball and tennis courts, free disc golf, trails, and lots of other stuff just there waiting to be used. You can go have fun for hours out in the wonderful outdoors, playing sports, hiking on trails, or trying other activities – and it’s all there for free. All you have to do is discover it. 61. Air up your tires. For every two PSI that all of your tires are below the recommended level, you lose 1% on your gas mileage. Most car tires are five to ten PSI below the normal level, so that means by just airing up your tires, you can improve your gas mileage by up to 5%. It’s easy, too. Just read your car’s manual to see what the recommended tire pressure is, then head to the gas station. Ask the attendant inside if they have a tire air gauge you can borrow (most of them do, both in urban and rural settings), then stop over by the air pump. Check your tires, and then use the pump to fill them up to where they should be. It’s basically free gas! 62. Start a garden. Gardening is an inexpensive hobby if you have a yard. Just rent a tiller , till up a patch, plant some plants, keep it weeded, and you’ll have a very inexpensive hobby that produces a huge amount of vegetables for you to eat at the end of the season. I like planting a bunch of tomato plants, keeping them cared for, then enjoying a huge flood of tomatoes at the end of the summer. We like to eat them fresh, can them, and make tomato juice, sauce, paste, ketchup, pasta sauce, and pizza sauce. Delicious (and very inexpensive)! 63. Dig into your community calendar. There are often tons of free events going on in your town that you don’t even know about. Stop by the local library or by city hall and ask how you can get ahold of a listing of upcoming commu-nity events, and make an effort to hit the interesting ones. You can often get free meals, free entertainment, and free stuff just by paying attention – even better, you’ll get in touch with what’s going on around you.

Ingredients 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded ( I use a store bought rotisserie chicken) 2 cups chicken broth 1/2 stick of butter 2 cups Bisquick 2 cups whole milk 1 can cream of chicken soup (the herbed cream of chicken soup if you can find it) 3 teaspoons of chicken granules (I use Wylers) 1/2 teaspoon dried sage 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of salt or more to taste

Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Layer 1 - In 9 x 13 casserole dish, melt 1/2 stick of butter. Spread shredded chicken over butter. Sprinkle black pepper and dried sage over this layer. Do not stir. Layer 2 - In small bowl, mix milk and Bisquick. Slowly pour all over chicken. Do not stir. Layer 3 - In medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of chicken broth, chicken granules and soup. Once blended, slowly pour over the Bisquick layer. Do not Stir. Bake casserole for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. We discussed the upcoming holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and The annual Christmas Party. Halloween Trunk "R" Treat will be held on October 25th at 6:30 pm around the parking area at the office. We will also have a Haunted House in the basement. For details please call Camille at 670-3839. We will inform you of the Thanksgiving and Christmas par-ties in the October news letter. We are still having problems with people exceeding the speed limits in the park. Please stop, look and listen. It could be your own child that runs into the street.

We will ask management about a form of speeding tickets and we will be watching and turn you in!!! A coat drive will be under way in just a few days. If you have a gently used coat that you no longer need, please call Leslie at the office or Camille and we will pick it up. You can also drop it off at the office. There is concern about Security. Any questions about this must go through the office. We will how-ever have a speaker at a meeting soon to address the role of Neighborhood Watch in the Security of the Park. Have a nice Fall and call me for any questions, suggestions or just to chat, 670-3839.

MANAGER’S NOTE... Dear Valued Residents, Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of Fall! Ready for cooler temps, and the holidays coming up soon. We are getting excited about Halloween, and our Trunk “R” Treat, and don’t forget our Haunted House. The kids and adults seem to enjoy our Halloween festivities each year. Let’s all remember to keep the lawns looking good for our yard of the month. I am keeping the reminders posted here also on a few important topics. There is a NO-Tolerance policy for possession of knives or guns by children in the park. I will take these from them and police will be called if caught! Second, obey all Stop signs, and speed limit signs throughout the park. If I see you on surveillance breaking these laws, you WILL receive a ticket for traffic violation. And lastly, Pick Up After Your Pets! I will enforce a fine up to $250 for not abiding by this rule! Another reminder for everyone: ALL RESIDENTS: THE GROUNDS KEEPERS WILL COME AROUND ON FRIDAYS! YARD DEBRIS SHOULD BE PLACED BY THE ROAD FOR PICK-UP ON THURSDAY EVENINGS ONLY! IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET SOMETHING TO THE ROAD, CALL THE OFFICE TO SCHEDULE HELP GETTING IT OUT. Again, thank you all for your cooperation in keeping Forest Estates a beautiful, fun place to live. As long as we all work together, Forest Estates will be the kind of home we all want! So lets keep up the great job!!
