This is the story of a journey. From Barcelona to South Africa. From the wild to love. This is a story of love for the wild. A story of love for Africa.
A COLLECTION INSPIRED BY THE AFRICAN SAVANNA
Etnia Barcelona presents a set of stylish limited-edition sunglasses with a classic silhouette. Slim handcrafted frames that combine cured cellulose acetate with a touch of metal, available in different colors.
This creation of this collection was inspired by Africa and its textures, particularly those known to the fashion world; “Animal Prints”. Its textures reproduce the colour of wood, zebra hair, giraffe skin and horns.
WITH NATURAL ACETATE, 100% ECO-FRIENDLY
The acetate for the collection is designed by Etnia Barcelona and manufactured by Mazzucchelli (Milan); the largest acetate production plant in Europe. This is a 100% eco-friendly acetate, made using natural organic compounds (cotton and cellulose paste) that are 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
We present the new colours and textures for the new season:
- Havana giraffe
- Horn
- Zebra
- Cheetah
- Bark

WITH THE COLLABORATION OF STEVE MCCURRYSteve McCurry (24th February 1950) is an American photojournalist who is known around the world because of his photograph “Afghan Girl”, which appeared in the National Geographic magazine in 1985.
His career in photography began with the war in Afghanistan (1978-1992). He has also covered other international conflicts such as the war between Iraq and Iran and the Gulf War.
His career as a photojournalist began with his coverage of the Russian war. In Afghanistan McCurry disguised himself as an Afghan in order to do his job unnoticed, and smuggled his rolls of film out of the country by stitching them into his clothing. His pictures were among the first to portray the conflict and were widely circulated. This work earned him the Robert Capa Gold Medal for Best Photographic Reporting from Abroad.
McCurry continued to cover international conflicts, including the war between Iran and Iraq, and conflicts in Beirut, Cambodia, the Philippines, the Gulf War and Afghanistan. His work has been published in magazines all over the world, and he is a regular contributor to National Geographic. He has been a member of the Magnum agency since 1986.
The equipment he uses is a Nikon D700 and a medium-format Hasselblad. In an interview he said: “in the old days, I mainly used prime lenses like a 28mm, a 35mm and a 50mm, but these days, I am happy with the results of my Nikkor 28-70 zoom lens that I find gives me sharp results.
“In portrait, I look for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a
person’s face…”
