Objectives of the Project

• To reduce the numberof students that takedrugs and stimulants.

• To inform studentsabout the damage tohealth caused by drugand alcohol abuse.

• To propagate a healthylife style among youngpeople.

Description• In 2005, Vilnius City Municipality published two attractive

colored references about the damage to organism and danger tothe young people’s health caused by drugs and alcohol

• In 2005-2006, the social publicity campaign against drugs, alcoholand smoking has been held all over Lithuania.

• In 2005-2006 preventive events NAUJA MADA (New Fashion)have been organized in educational institutions under control ofVilnius Municipality. During events, famous and well-knownartists among young people, presents books, lectures about thedamage to organism caused by intoxicants, and lead discussionswith students about a fashionable healthy life style.

• The Project has started in Vilnius City. After municipalities ofother cities present proposals, the Project will spread all overRepublic.

The first “DIDELĖ MĖLYNA KNYGA APIENARKOTIKUS” (Big Blue Book About

Drugs)• Due to the poor financing, the most of the

references for students designed for drugprevention are printed on a poor qualitypaper and the information is presented in amatter-of-fact way only with a very fewpictures. The information presented in suchway is unattractive especially for juniorstudents.

• DIDELE MELYNA KNYGA APIENARKOTIKUS (Big Blue Book AboutDrugs) – a colored educational book aboutthe effect of drugs and the damage caused tothe organism. A big amount of coloredpictures in the book make informationattractive for the junior students.

The second “DIDELĖ MĖLYNA KNYGAAPIE ALKOHOLĮ” (Big Blue Book About

Alcohol)• According to the last statistical data,

97,8% of students take alcohol. It is dueto the fact that children live in thesurroundings where alcohol isinseparable part of the national culture.There is a lot of alcohol and drugpromotion on television and in movies.

• Insufficient practicable information foryoung people about the danger of takingstimulants.

• This book presents the informationabout the damage of alcohol to peoplehealth and development in a playfulway.

Events at schools

• The famous and well-known artistsamong young people visited educationalinstitutions of Vilnius City where theyhad lectures about the causes ofphysical and emotional stimulantdependence, told about their drug-addicted friends’ harrowing experience,held discussions about a newfashionable healthy life style, andpresented new books.

• 25 Models in all newspapers of theRepublic publication group

• 80 broadcasts on TV3 television.• 150 radio broadcasts on

RADIOCENTRAS.• Displaying of promotion posters on 135

“JCDecoux” promotion stands and in 300stops of public transport.
