I am comfortable studying at Lincoln Academy, because it is in a very nice and beautiful community. My classmates, teachers, and the local people treat me friendly. They are enthusiastic to give me a favor when I need it. I enjoy being a member of LA! - Kai, Grade 12, China

I like everything about Lincoln Academy. It’s a very special place. It has helped me improve my English and make new friends from all over the world that I will never forget. I really like all my classes and my host family. My host sisters are like my real sisters, and we will always be in contact. The sports and the coaches are very nice. I had never played field hockey, basketball or lacrosse before, and they accepted me into their teams. I have learned a lot from this experience.- LuCia, Grade 10, Spain

Hosting Hana has strengthened and broadened my love for Japan. I wouldn’t have changed this experience for the world! - hoLLy, Grade 12, uSa

Lincoln Academy is a special school, because it makes the students feel at home especially in the dorms. My favorite things are the good food we have and the numerous fun activities we do on the weekend. I always enjoy playing sports at Lincoln, because the students are competitive and hard-working. I have had a fantastic junior year at Lincoln Academy. - Ben, Grade 11, rwanda

Desiring to go to an American college in the future, Lincoln Academy was a great choice for me. Along with the rigorous and challenging academic programs, the school also offers me a variety of extracurricular activities so that I will grow up knowing how to balance my life. In addition, the boarding program will give me an idea of what college life looks like.- Thanh, Grade 11, VieTnam

RESIDENCE HALLSBoys live in a newly renovated dormitory on campus, and girls live in comfortable houses adjacent to campus. A new girls’ dormitory will open in January 2015. The residence halls are light-filled and modern with large rooms, comfortable lounge areas, and quality furnishings. There is a dorm parent for every 10 students, who provides students with 24-hour supervision and support. Meals are served in the dining commons and are prepared by an accomplished chef, who works hard to cater to student tastes and needs.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMSBoarding students are encouraged to be active participants in the school and town communities. In addition to regular school sports, music, and

BeLonG To A communiTyclubs, students are given opportunities to volunteer in the community, exercise at the YMCA or in the Lincoln Academy Fitness Center, learn a new skill, or explore an interest such as horseback riding or sailing. In the evenings after dinner, students have free time and then participate in a mandatory study hall.

WEEKENDSAll Lincoln Academy students are invited to attend weekend activities with boarding students. Faculty members and staff chaperone trips, which may include shopping, going to the Asian markets in Portland, skiing at Sugarloaf, attending a movie or concert, hiking part of the Appalachian Trail, or taking a trip to Boston. There is always something interesting to do in Midcoast and Southern Maine.

• We have an extremely welcoming culture: a student ambassador program, which pairs boarding students with local students; a high number of day students participating in weekend activities; and day faculty, who are excited about sharing their interests with the boarding students.

• The majority of our students come from the surrounding towns, and only 9% of our student population is international. Students at Lincoln Academy enjoy an authentic American high school experience in a safe, nurturing environment.

• We have access to rich natural, cultural, and scientific resources.
