Presentation Overview
Tahoe’s average daily population is four times the permanent resident population, with peak visitation during the summertime.
New data on how people travel in Lake Tahoe helps us better plan for transportation needs.
Transportation Challenge: High Visitation
Annual visits projected to increase by up to 20% in
the next 20 years.

Corridor Planning Approach
We are taking an in-depth look at how biking, walking, transit, and parking can better work together in six different roadway corridors around the Lake to create a connected, seamless transportation system that supports lake clarity, reduces congestion, and improves quality of life.
Potential Strategies
The following maps show transit, trail, and technology strategies the TRPA and the TTD will consider in the corridor plans, and the Regional Transportation Plan.
