GATE ‐ Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
GATE 2017-18
There are certain changes in the exam pattern of GATE2017 than GATE 2016.
GATE exam 2017‐1018 is going to be organised by Indianinstitute of technology, Roorkee and it has posted new updatesand changes on its website.
Ministry of Human Resources Development had decided forintroducing following new features in GATE 2017 entranceexam.
Modified section in GATEexam syllabus
As per modified examination pattern, a new unit on oceanicand atmospheric science has been included in engineeringscience paper as section H.
With this new section, now engineering science (XE)paper has eight sections as A to H.
International aspirants inGATE 2017-2018 exam
From 2017‐2018 onwards, GATE exam will be conductedalso in foreign countries.
According to administration, GATE exam will be conductedin Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Nepal, United ArabEmirates and Sri Lanka.
Pattern of exam will be same as prescribed for India andexam schedule will be notified in admit cards.
Schedule of the examination
GATE exam 2017‐2018 is scheduled to be conducted on 4‐5February 2017 and 11‐12 February 2017.
Two sessions as Forenoon session scheduled as 9 am to 12am and the afternoon session decided from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Students should be attentive as the timings of GATE 2017exam at International centers for GATE exam will beaccording to the local time.
Changes in Application procedure
Applicants are allowed to select the second city only insame zone as the first city selected,anywhere in India butstill in same zone
Thumb expression uploading is the next feature
Degree completed candidates must upload their scanneddegree completion certificate or final year marklists.
Final year candidates must upload their scanned last yearmark sheets or provisional letter to prove their eligibility.
Why the change?
GATE being one of the most prominent exams.
If the prominence of the same gets established in otherforeign countries, the expansion would occur.
This will help in pushing the boundaries of the academicenvironment, which in turn will encourage the studentdiversity, culture and wisdom around the community.
