This will be the final school newsletter for Term 3. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the teachers, admin staff, students and the community for all of the hard work that has translated into effective student learning throughout the term. This hard work, dedication and teamwork, from all involved, has ensured that the whole school community has worked together to make sure that our students receive the best education possible and that our NAPLAN results continue to demonstrate pleasing trends with regards to student growth. I will share more specifics of our NAPLAN results at the first Community Café that will occur on Thursday 8 November at 2.00pm in the school library. There have been a number of highlights and achievements throughout the term. These include our Athletics Carnival, Little Learners, the Y-PEP Child Protection Program, the launch of Community Café, SEU Music Tutor Program, our Book Fair and Book Week, the P&C Father’s Day stall, our continued involvement in the ‘Got It’ Program and our bi-annual Carnivale, which was a huge success yesterday. It has been a busy and productive term and I again thank the staff for their hard work in ensuring the best outcomes for your children. I would like to take the opportunity to mention that the Tender for the Out of School Hours Service (OOSHS) will be advertised by 3 October on the NSW Government eTendering website. This can be located at https://tenders.nsw.gov.au. I would encourage anyone interested in providing this service to view the tender and apply if applicable. I would like to wish all of our families a safe and enjoyable Spring holiday break with their children. School will resume for students on Monday 15 October. Boys Touch Football

Today our schools Boy’s Touch Football Team played in the grand final of the Western Region NSWPSSA Touch Football Knockout Competition. The boys came up against a strong Bletchington Public School, they played extremely hard and never gave up. Unfortunately they were beaten by a better side. Congratulations to Bletchington and all the best for the next round. Thank you to Mrs Picman and Mr Wolffs for your hard work with the team.

Special Assembly Today was the last day for our wonderful General Assistant, Colleen Brownlow. Her committment to Lithgow Public School has extended over 30 years, and her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by students and staff. Enjoy your retire-ment Colleen!

Carnivale FunCarnivale was enormously successful again. It was wonderful to see so many families coming to support our children and our school. The students did a fabulous job and wowed the crowd with their spectacular performances. Well done to everyone for a great day.
