    Meet Us Sunday 14th December

Christ Church Baptist WGC - morning family service and

Christ Church Barnet - evening service

We would love to meet u with ou

Clare sharing with a PNG national at PNGs cultural show in Goroka

Doublie and Herron, two of MAFs ground staff, working out loading 270 boxesof food into the back of the Twin Otter

What is it like Living at 5,000 ft?

We live at 5,200 Ft above the

sea. The temperature is 22C allyear around, slightly cooler in the

evenings. When it rains, it starts at

    4:30pm and stops before 5:30pm

    and the mountain views are

    spectacular.

    Apparently, high altitude living

    is healthy! Sydney has started

    advertising special gymnasiums

    with high altitude pseudo

environments for a good workout.I suggest Sydney advertises

some hard work expeditions to the

highlands here in PNG and do

some real good working out by

loading the Twin Otter with a few

tonnes of food five times a day!

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS 2013www.woodington.comWoodington, December 2013

Chief Pilot Michael Duncalf, also a Brit, and Paul being welcomed at a small bushairstrip after transporting much needed water piping to the village

    Clares Billums and Maternity Packs

Clare continues to make Billums (local bags)from coffee sacks to raise Kina(local money) to

fund her maternity packs for mothers flown in onMEDEVAC flights.

These mothers often have their baby in thebush, but are then rushed by aircraft to hospitalbecause of a retained placenta.

Hospital conditions can be awful. No blankets,No fresh water to drink, No clothes for the newborn babies, and No sanitary towels for themothers.

Up to 25% of all new born babies dieanother 25% before the age of five.

Clares maternity packs make a small differencephysically, but much more importantly show thatsomeone cares, that someone loves them, and thatthere is something to look forward to

    Online Water

It is amazing how much of a difference a supply of water pipe can make. Thesevillagers are putting on a full show to demonstrate how thankful they are to MAFand all their supporters. - Paul Woodington, 2013
