Queen of May. Members ot Our Lady of Lourdes Sodality, comprising student nurses of St. James Mer- cy Hospital, held their May Day Sunday, May 28. Miss Eleanor Wachter, acting prefect of the Sodality, was tfffe May Queen, attended by Miss Ann Ermy, acting vice prefect, and Miss Rose Marie Rlefer, act- ing secretary. All three were chosen by popular vote by stu- dent nurses. Crowning ceremonies wafe held in the corridor near the hospital chapel, beside a large statue af the Blessed virgin. Leading the procession of the May Queen, attendants and stu- dent nurses was Mary Catherine Leahy, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Leahy. During the ceremonies Miss Wachter removed her crown ana placed it on the head of the statue of the Blessed Virgin as a pledge si i£s Sodality's fideli- ty. Members of the Sodality' then recited the Litany of Lo- retto. At the conclusion of the crowning ceremony, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given in the chapel by the Rev. John Realy, spiritual director of the Sodality. Hospital and Church Rites Honor Mary Queen of May

Hornea - Traditional Maty Queen crowning ceremonies were held here closing the month ot festivities in honor 'of Mary. Queen of May.

Members ot Our Lady of Lourdes Sodality, comprising student nurses of St. James Mer­cy Hospital, held their May Day Sunday, May 28.

Miss Eleanor Wachter, acting prefect of the Sodality, was tfffe May Queen, attended by Miss Ann Ermy, acting vice prefect, and Miss Rose Marie Rlefer, act­ing secretary. All three were chosen by popular vote by stu­dent nurses.

Crowning ceremonies wafe held in the corridor near the hospital chapel, beside a large statue af the Blessed virgin. Leading the procession of the May Queen, attendants and stu­dent nurses was Mary Catherine Leahy, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Leahy.

During the ceremonies Miss Wachter removed her crown ana placed it on the head of the statue of the Blessed Virgin a s a pledge si i £ s Sodality's fideli­ty. Members of the Sodality' then recited the Litany of Lo-retto.

At the conclusion of the crowning ceremony, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given in the chapel by the Rev. John Realy, spiritual director of the Sodality. Mnsie for Benedic­tion and during the exercises was sung by the hospital choir, accompanied on the organ b y James CSaocy.
