CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

ANDREW COOLIDGE Age: 39 Occupation: Small Business Owner Chico is a wonderful place to live. It has been a great place to attend college, create a business, and raise a family. To maintain our small town charm and provide opportunities for our future, we must make improvements. As the producer of the Home and Garden Show and donation coordinator for the Silver Dollar Fair, I understand the recent difficulties for businesses in Chico. We must be proactive in order to not only survive, but to thrive. We need commonsense leadership. My priorities include: improvements to sidewalks, roadways, and drainage (many neighborhoods of Chico do not have safe areas for our children to walk to schools or for bicycles to ride on the road; drainage issues also cause flooding and inconvenience). Economic growth is essential (we must attract new businesses while making sure our current businesses are given the assistance they need to prosper). We must protect Bidwell Park while allowing everyone to enjoy its recreational amenities and beauty. I will fight to keep the Leaf Pick-up Program for homeowners. I am against raising downtown parking fees. I believe we are overdue in addressing bicycle safety issues. It’s our city. Let’s make it better together. CoolidgeChico.com / 530-864-8683.

TOBY SCHINDELBECK Age: 34 Occupation: Small Business Owner Chico has real problems: it is less safe to walk around in the park and downtown now then only a few short years ago, police and fire departments are being reduced, businesses are closing or relocating, our budget is not balanced, and we are on the verge of bankruptcy like many other California cities. The good news is that we can recover and pull out of this spiral, but we need new leadership to do it. Instead of the same “good ol’ boys” who got us into this mess, what we need now are councilmembers with common sense who can get back to the basics of fiscal responsibility. As a government watchdog with a small business owner’s common sense, I can help Chico implement business-friendly policies so that we can increase revenue without raising taxes. I currently own the NUTRISHOP nutrition stores in Chico, and as a business owner since age 19, I have the experience to trim the fat off of a budget and do more with less. Vote for me, Toby Schindelbeck, on November 6th or earlier by absentee ballot. Vote Schindelbeck for public safety, community development and fiscal responsibility. Together, we can make a difference. www.TobyForCouncil.com

ANN SCHWAB Age: 55 Occupation: Mayor/Non Profit Manager As Chico’s Mayor, I’ve built a reputation as a strong leader, working hard to strengthen our economy, create jobs, achieve a balanced City of Chico budget and address community needs. With your support I will continue leading Chico forward, supporting a thriving economic climate to provide public safety, roads, parks, and our outstanding quality of life in neighborhoods. Since my election to the Council in 2004, I am proud of our work to distinguish Chico as an environmental leader, developing the City’s Climate Action Plan and adopting the 2030 General Plan, emphasizing sustainable development and preserving the Greenline. I have worked to maintain a strong community, creating the Diversity Action Plan to promote inclusivity in government and accessibility to City services for all. As program manager for Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), president of Chico Velo Cycling Club and volunteer for Park Watch and KCHO radio, I believe in community service. My husband, Budd Schwab, and I own Campus Bicycles. I understand the importance of small business and value downtown as the heart of our community. With your support I will continue representing your interests on Chico’s City Council by leading Chico forward. www.FriendsOfAnnSchwab.com

RANDALL STONE Age: 39 Occupation: Financial Planner, Businessman As a successful business owner and 17-year resident of Chico, I’m proud of Chico’s reputation as a leader in cultural and recreational opportunities. I have owned and operated a professional financial management firm, directed the Special Olympics of Butte County, and studied finance, economics, and public administration at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The State’s fiscal crises have caused unprecedented financial challenges that endanger our economic stability. In the last year alone, I have helped bring an estimated 75-fulltime equivalent, annualized jobs to the City of Chico and much needed revenue to restore our oldest community neighborhoods. As a job creator and self-employed professional financial manager, I understand how to coordinate capital and operating budgets and will place public safety as a top priority. We need safe streets where our children and seniors can be comfortable enjoying our parks and waterways. High density development must not be allowed to alter the character of our classic neighborhoods while still being affordable and maintaining a transit-centric urban core. I will enhance bicycle networks for safe transit throughout the city. We deserve a safe and economically stable community. We deserve exceptional leadership and strong professional management. Vote Randall Stone for Council. www.ElectStone.com

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

DAVE KELLEY Age: 59 Occupation: Architect/Local Businessman Now, more than ever, Chico needs a moderate non-partisan voice. A voice that actively supports local business, advocates for safe neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown core, and clearly promotes job creation. A voice that speaks up for Chico’s environmental heritage and distinct community values, while advancing economic policies. I am the only candidate with any City of Chico Planning Commission experience. Three of my eight years of service, were as Chair during the 2030 General Plan Update. This direct public experience has taught me to listen, hear and respect the citizens. I have the ability to carefully weigh the facts and make independent decisions for the entire community. I understand what’s necessary to find common ground and forge solutions together. My background as a California public school architect provides me with the knowledge to generate options, prioritize values and be fiscally responsible with public monies. You have a choice. If you want balanced community representation, and not narrow agendas or preconceived ideas, then choose Dave Kelley. You don’t have to choose risky, unproven and untested candidates. Don’t settle for special interest individuals. My vision for Chico is forward-looking, objective and focuses on measurable results. Vote for a better future, vote for Dave Kelley.

DAVE DONNAN Age: 60 Occupation: Business Owner/Realtor I’ve been a resident of Chico for over 30 years and I’m a father, grandfather, veteran, 2-time cancer survivor, small business owner, umpire, realtor and civic volunteer. I have always sought positive changes for Chico. We need a fresh perspective resulting in positive and meaningful changes to the city we all love. I want to bring back our passion for Chico. The citizens should not bear the burden of poor budget decisions by our current city council. I plan to work with over 6500 existing businesses and landlords to lower fees and permits which will enable new economic growth. Passing the costs of poor planning in the form of a sales tax increase will only make our situation worse. What happened to Chico’s Quality of life? Putting aside political alignments, we all deserve to have a safe place to live, have clean water/air, jobs, and recreation. We deserve an elected city council who will spend our tax dollars wisely and bring Chico back. I believe there are workable solutions that will change the fiscal direction of our city. I will do what needs to be done in order to put the city back on a path towards fiscal responsibility.

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

SEAN MORGAN Age: 42 Occupation: Businessman-teacher I’ve had the privilege of living in Chico for 38 years; as a student, managing and operating businesses, and as a business teacher at Chico State. My wife of 17 years and I are raising our two boys here. Chico is a magical place, but it didn’t get this way by accident and we need leadership that will protect the future of our unique community. In recent years, our city council has not met the high standards our families and neighborhoods deserve: A safe place to raise a family, an ideal location for business, and a premier place to live. New leadership is needed to develop responsible plans to keep our city financially secure while prioritizing vital services like public safety. We cannot allow our city to become insolvent, like many other California cities. Promoting local business success and jobs will increase our tax base and make it possible for us to meet our goals without raising taxes. I pledge to tackle our challenges head-on and help return Chico to the thriving, dynamic city it was always meant to be. I’d be honored to serve you and I’d appreciate your vote on November 6th. Please call me anytime, 530-570-4393 www.SeanMorganForChico.com

TAMI RITTER Age: 41 Occupation: Educator/Counselor Chico is a vibrant town that offers a unique quality of life. As a parent, I am passionate about preserving that quality for future generations. Our city council needs a fresh approach and councilors who are committed to civility and common sense. My goals as a council person include encouraging our local economy, supporting sustainable growth without compromising the spirit of our unique city, and preserving our parks and open spaces. As a successful manager, including being the founding director of the Torres Community Homeless Shelter, I know the challenges of balancing budgets and finding solutions to stretch limited resources to achieve maximum benefit. I worked closely with diverse community organizations and faith groups to provide essential services to our city. There is no reason for our community to engage in big city politics. As a councilor, I will never forget that I serve all the citizens of Chico. I will honor your opinions, and keep focused on what is right for our city. I will serve with an open mind and consider all opinions before making a decision. Vote for me and together we can create a community to be proud of. www.tamiritter.com

CITY OF CHICO MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

BOB EVANS Age: 66 Occupation: Retired Business Manager Do you know that Chico has continued to spend beyond its means? Alarmingly, we have already spent most of our reserves, including our emergency reserves! Also, we owe our Private Development Fund $9,949,000 to bring it into balance, and we have $63,700,000 in unfunded pension liabilities! My commitment to you is to focus on solving these problems instead of outside issues like plastic bag bans and corporate personhood. My priorities include: insisting that your tax dollars are spent wisely, paying down Chico’s debt to avoid any possibility of bankruptcy, and making economic development a top priority so local businesses can grow, create jobs, and increase revenues for the city budget. I firmly believe that promoting economic development and protecting our environment can coexist; in fact, they must. Why? Both are essential to a quality community. Only when businesses thrive will we again afford to hire more police and firefighters, fix our aging streets, and create jobs for our unemployed. The arts community, the library, Bidwell Park, and all critical non-profits will benefit by improving our local business economy. The road to Chico’s recovery begins when the Council commits to these goals. I’m Bob Evans and I respectively request your vote.

CITY OF OROVILLE MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

CITY OF OROVILLE MEMBER, CITY COUNCIL

ALFREDA FLINT Occupation: Community Volunteer Vote for me and let us work together for more jobs, safety, recreation, income, education and beautiful surroundings. As an Oroville City Council member, I can offer a business background as a prior owner and as an employee of private businesses. My 36 years in Oroville has seen an increase in citizens, and changes. Oroville must move forward accordingly, and offer a good quality of life while improving it. We must bring new businesses and jobs here, without negatively impacting existing ones. Spending must be done carefully, the budget is tight. Tourism should be addressed, bringing more visitors to Oroville which benefits businesses while increasing income to the City and benefiting safety and improvements. More involvement and communication with citizens and businesses is important. My volunteerism has resulted in special events which bring thousands of people to our City, a new art organization, the Oroville Arts Commission, a growing list of public art pieces, membership in a variety of service and business groups and activities, and art education for children. My experience includes actively and positively participating on committees, commissions and boards with the City. Thank you.

DAVID W. PITTMAN Age: 58 Occupation: Retired Firefighter An Oroville native for 58 years, I continue to make Oroville my home. I was privileged to serve with Oroville City Fire Department for 34 years as a volunteer firefighter, Engineer, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief, and Fire Chief. I retired in 2007 and continue as a part-time Fire Technology Instructor at Butte College. Representing you and your fellow citizens of Oroville for the last 4 years as Councilmember has been my privilege. My decision-making has been directed by the priorities of public safety, quality of life, job creation and economic development for existing business and encouraging new opportunities, public participation & open communication. Accomplishments during my first term include securing many federal, state and Indian Gaming grant funds for the Oroville community, providing for the removal of blighted buildings, traffic and pedestrian safety improvements, security cameras throughout the community, establishing neighborhood safety programs, senior affordable housing, new business opportunities and continuing the development of a Whitewater Park idea. As an advocate for Oroville, I pledge to use the priorities of public safety, quality of life, economic development and public participation as your representative. I humbly ask for your support on November 6, 2012.

TOWN OF PARADISE MEMBER, TOWN COUNCIL

TOWN OF PARADISE MEMBER, TOWN COUNCIL

STEVE “WOODY” CULLETON Age: 66 Occupation: Incumbent As a resident of Paradise for 32 years it has been great working for you. I can honestly say it has been a real honor and I would like to continue to do the job you elected me to do. That is not always easy during these tough economic times and it sometimes requires making very difficult decisions. I will continue to study the issues and put the best interest of our citizens first as we strive to keep our Town financial stable, rebuild our economy and protect this Town we call home. I will continue to ask hard questions, study the facts, and make my decisions based on what’s in the best interests of our community as a whole. Thank for your support and your trust.

JOHN J. RAWLINGS Paradise is a friendly town where people can come and raise their families, make it their home and live out their senior years. Paradise is blessed with abundant beauty and good people who deserve strong leadership that always acts in their best interest. I am committed to serve you, with transparency, strength and vision. I retired in 1998 and made Paradise my home, my wife is a 55 year resident of Paradise and we have a blended family of six children who are all on their own. I value fiscal responsibility, strength in leadership, and transparency in government. As your elected representative I will confront the difficult issues facing our community and act aggressively in the best interest of our residents and tax payers. As your Councilman I will use my 30 years experience in municipal government to promote fiscal responsibility, protect property values, and work with the private sector and others to open new businesses, increase revenues and fully fund our police and fire services. I served Butte County on the 2010-2011 Grand Jury, my country in the Army and as a government employee to my home town of Norfolk, VA. I ask for your vote.

TOWN OF PARADISE MEMBER, TOWN COUNCIL

GREG BOLIN Age: 54 Occupation: Local Business Owner Paradise is going through a very critical time in its history, the budgets are extremely tight and we are being asked by the state to do more with fewer dollars. Tough decisions will need to be made if we are to survive. I am running to bring a new prospective to the town council, one that will work on the current challenges but will also look to the future. I’ve lived in Paradise for 45 years, graduated from Paradise High School, married Kathleen, raised four children, and I am now a proud grandfather of four. I want my children and grandchildren to have that same opportunity that we experienced in this beautiful town. Having served on the town planning commission and operated a local business since 1979 I have the skills to place our town into a position to move forward into a new, prosperous paradigm. In addition, I have served our community in numerous philanthropies and organizations which share the mutual goal of reaching out to people in need. I am asking for your vote so I can help our families and our town. Should you have further questions please call me at: 530 514 8066. Greg Bolin

COUNTY SUPERVISOR, 5TH DISTRICT COUNTY SUPERVISOR, 5TH DISTRICT

DOUG TEETER Age: 44 Occupation: Small Business Owner In the June primary I made a promise to listen to the citizens of Butte County. To work towards that commitment, I personally knocked on over a thousand doors. Key issues I heard regarding our County government were balanced budgets, fire and vital services, streamline government, water rights and resource protection. I will work vigorously to provide balanced budgets that will not sacrifice the funding for fire, sheriff/police and other vital services. I believe deficit spending and fire station brownouts have no place in our County. I will provide leadership that pursues continual streamlining of our government. I believe our Supervisors must take the lead to reduce bureaucracy that is limiting our economic growth and threatening our freedoms. I will represent your rights to our water. I believe the State must compensate us for water that originates within our County. I will advocate for policies that protect our agricultural lands and supply of adequate, safe, clean water. JOE DI DUCA Age: 48 Occupation: Businessman/Town Councilmember As a small business owner and parent, I’ve experienced the challenges that Butte County residents are facing, especially with this bad economy. With my eight years of experience serving on the Paradise Town Council and Planning Commission, I have developed a clear, conservative understanding of what government should do and shouldn’t do. I believe high unemployment and the constant assaults on our rights are the negative results of to much buearacracy. We need less government and that’s why I want to serve as your Supervisor. My priorities will be to create a job-friendly County, increase public safety, provide better roads and services, and decrease bureaucracy. I will fight for your rights as a taxpayer and with a $460 million County budget we can do it, but it will take fiscal restraint and responsibility to prioritize every item. I will not vote to raise taxes. Taxpayers deserve a life of financial independence and are entitled to the enjoyment of their liberties. No government has ever taxed its way to prosperity, and as your Supervisor I will work every day to make sure Butte County is accountable for your money. DIRECTOR, FULL TERM FEATHER RIVER RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT

DIRECTOR, FULL TERM FEATHER RIVER RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT

MARCIA K. CARTER Developing and running a wide variety of programs for children over the past 28 years here in Oroville has been the greatest joy for me! What fun and exciting adventures we have had with all the children in my summer camps: especially going to our very own discovery park, taking fieldtrips, going on scavenger hunts. Recreation is such a vital part of healthy lives, for young and old alike! To serve on the FRRPD Board would not only be an honor, but also the culmination of a life dedicated to recreation, child development, and innovative teaching approaches through physical education. I will bring a unique set of qualifications and experiences to the Board: 42 years as a preschool teacher and director, 35 years coaching gymnastics and physical fitness programs, 30 years as a sensory/motor specialist, 28 years as owner/director of a recreation and sports center for children, and 28 years as an owner/director of a licensed child care center (to name just a few!). I look forward to serving you on the Feather River Board and to working in a spirit of cooperation with fellow board members. Our children and our entire community deserve the best.

EVA R. LINCOLN Occupation: Retired USDA Information Specialist I am running for the governing board of the Feather River Recreation Park District, because I feel I can bring responsibility and fiscal accountability to the board. I attended catholic and public schools in El Paso, Texas. I worked in Public Affairs and Civil Rights with the United States Department of Agriculture–Mendocino National Forest for 24 years. I am married and have four grown children and have lived in California 30 years. I am very aware of the need to operate within a budget with proper distribution of resources and fiscal responsibility. I believe the time has come to tighten our belts and look closely at current and future budgets. I am an active member of the Altar Society, Catholic Ladies Relief Society and serve as Secretary on Our Lady of Guadalupe Society at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. I am looking forward to serving you as Director on the Feather River Recreation Park District. Thank you for your vote, I sincerely appreciate it.

DIRECTOR, SHORT TERM FEATHER RIVER RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT

JAN HILL I offer you my six years experience on the Feather River Recreation and Park District Board, two years as Chairperson and six years on the finance committee as one who brings balance to the Board. I have spent many years as a teacher, program evaluator, educational researcher, and consultant. I have utmost respect for what a park district can do using all its resources for everyone in the district. I will continue to promote professionalism, ethics, and common sense among everyone involved with the district. I am accessible and respond to constituents concerns, phone calls, and kudos. My husband and I have one son. I am a 42 year district participant, rate payer, and supporter. My time is spent on parks and recreation work, volunteering, pet care, rock hounding, reading and gardening. We adopt/rescue large and small animals. I believe we can dramatically increase revenue by effectively utilizing the tax allocations, grants, park resources, and our forty thousand square foot, multipurpose building. I promise you honesty, integrity, experience and common sense. I want to see the district survive and thrive. Thank you for your vote and for your constructive actions on behalf of the park district!

DIRECTOR SOUTH FEATHER WATER AND POWER AGENCY DIVISION 2

DIRECTOR SOUTH FEATHER WATER AND POWER AGENCY DIVISION 2

REGINA MUNSTER I believe I am an excellent candidate to serve as a Board of Director for South Feather Water and Power Agency (SFWP) Division II. If elected, I will do my best to ensure the highest quality water and services for the District and the community it serves. As a resident in Butte County for over 37 years, I understand the needs of the community and the challenges it faces in these hard economic times. As a small business owner, I realize how important it is to streamline operations and establish financial strategies while providing great service at a reasonable price to the customer. My civil service experience as a Director for a Special District has provided me with the skills to work collaboratively with a Board and be a fair citizen representative. I have been an active member of several community clubs and organizations such as Rotary, FFA, BNI, CSUC Nutrition Advisory Council and the School Nutrition Association. I will strive to represent the interest of our community and to broaden public and community support of the Agency’s mission.

LOU LODIGIANI Age: 61 Occupation: Owner/Grower Tri-L Mandarins As a locally-based farmer and small business person, I have always been focused on the cost, consistency, cleanliness and quality of our area water. Our water is precious and needs to be protected every day, both as a base element in our environment and from political exploitation. Our water is absolutely the best that can be delivered to you the end consumer. I am proud to have served you as Division 2 Director for the past four years and to have been a part of the policy making body that has been influential in the process of relicensing with the State of California. This is a great Agency to work with; the Administration is forward thinking and decisive. The staff is knowledgeable, dedicated and talented. My fellow Directors are equally dedicated to continuing to preserve the Agency heritage. Reduced domestic and irrigation water rates, renovations to existing infrastructure and continued stewardship of our existing resources are just a few of the highlights of the last four years service. I look forward to serving Division 2 for the next four years and continuing to vote to “Protect Our Water”. Thank-you for your vote on November 6th.

MEMBER OF THE STATE ASSEMBLY, 1ST DISTRICT MEMBER OF THE STATE ASSEMBLY, 1ST DISTRICT

RICK BOSETTI Occupation: Businessman Redding Councilman I’ve spent my life working in the private sector, creating jobs and signing paychecks for working families in the 1st District and I’ll bring this experience to the Assembly. Sacramento has failed to stop the growth of government, the overspending, the crushing regulations, overzealous environmentalism and taxes driving businesses out of the state. Oppose Higher Taxes. My opposition to raising taxes earned me the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, National Tax Limitation Committee, Assemblyman Jim Nielsen, former Senator Maurice Johannessen and former Assemblyman Stan Statham. Support Pension Reform. In 2010, I was proud to help author the first pension measure in a general law city in California to save taxpayers money and balance our budget. As your legislator, I’ll help get California back on track. Pro-Business. The CA Small Business Association and Sierra Pacific Industries endorse me. I will reduce the regulations and taxes that make it increasingly difficult to create and maintain a business in California. In 2006, I was elected to the Redding City Council, and was chosen to serve as Mayor and Vice Mayor. Under my leadership, the Council has pushed fiscally conservative policies, balancing budgets and building reserves, all while protecting essential services. For more information, please visit www.RickBosetti.com.

BRIAN DAHLE As a third-generation farmer, businessman, and a four-term Lassen County Supervisor, I know how difficult it is for businesses and families to survive. You can be certain, I’ll fight to end mandates and fees that are putting small businesses out of business, and I’ll oppose any attempts to raise taxes on hard working families. Under my leadership, Lassen County has a balanced budget and is debt free. In the Assembly, I’ll fight to create a balanced budget and focus on priorities like public safety and making it easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs. I’ll protect north state water rights and oppose any plans to ship our water to Southern California. That’s one reason my candidacy is supported by twenty-four local County Supervisors and the Farm Bureaus of Shasta, Siskiyou, Sierra, Plumas, Nevada, Lassen, and Modoc Counties. I believe in a hand-up, not a handout. I believe in individual responsibility and strong families. I believe in private property rights and the right to own firearms. I believe we must secure our borders and promote public safety. California once led the world in economic vitality; today industries are leaving the State, gas prices are soaring, and food costs continue to climb. Your family deserves better. Together, we can restore the Golden State. I will work as hard for you and your family as I do my own. If you have any questions, my cell phone number is (530) 251-3888 or email [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration. www.BrianDahle.com
