The Project brought numerous opportunities to contribute to the prioritization and achievement of lagging MDGs
• Endorsement of national MDG Acceleration Plan for maternal health;
• Completion of local MDG5 acceleration plans;
• Produced policy issuances on the Sin Tax and Reproductive Health Law.
Opportunities: Accelerating Progress on the MDGs Project
• The “MDG Family-based Actions for Children and their Environs in the Slums” (MDG-FACES) implemented in 120 city-slums, since 2008.
• MDG-FACES Dossier on Children is a “score-card” device which tracks the development of targeted Children per slum area from 2008 – 2015 based on MDG indicators.

• STRATEGY. Unfinished business of MDGs especially on poverty eradication, inequality and maternal health care among others – how to ensure sustainability;
• CAPACITY. Keeping up with the increasing demands for better delivery of basic services to communities especially those that are geographically isolated and depressed areas;

• VULNERABILITIES. Ensuring that our interventions bring about the development of resilient communities that are better prepared against impact of climate change and disasters;

• YOUTH. Maximizing the involvement of the youth in local governance and development promotes more sustainable approaches and development results
• MARGINALIZED SECTORS. At the end of the day, we at the local government level should ensure that no local citizen is left behind as the community develops;
