is the oldest

British university. It was founded in 1167. It belongs to the ten-top best universities

in the world. There are 22640 students at Oxford. The academic

year Is divided into three trimesters:

Michaelmas-October – December, Hilary

January – March, Trinity April – June. It

consists of 38 independent Colleges

and 6 Permanent Private Halls.

CambridgeFounded in 1206, University of Cambridge is the second-oldest, after Oxford, university in UK. It consists of several independent Collages, among which Peterhouse College is the oldest. There is Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge, famous for the research on an atom and the DNA structure.

Cricket Polo

A team sport in which game is played between two teams of 11 players on an oval field, at the centre of which there is a pitch. At the end of the pitch there are three wooden stumps stuck in the ground called wickets.

Polo is a team game played on horseback by two four-player teams. The game objective is to drive a wooden ball, the size of an orange, into the opponent’s goal using long sticks called mallets.

Races on horseback have very long history. First horse racings took place in antiquity. There are two categories of horse racing: hurdles race and flat race (no hurdles).

The objective of the game is to place the oval ball over the opponent’s line. The ball can be passed either by throwing, only backward, or kicking.

He is commonly regarded as one of the finest exponent of English literature and a reformer of the theatre. He wrote around 40 plays, 154 sonnets and also many works in other genres. Romeo and Juliet is one of his best known works.
