Locksmith Facility Management Applicants are to clearly demonstrate how they satisfy the selection criteria in their written submissions and must identify the competition number they are applying for in the subject line of the email. This competition may be used to establish a 6 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies. DUTIES Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager or their designate, the successful candidate will be responsible to install, adjust and repair locks of all types, make and duplicate keys, rekey lock cylinders and work on commercial and institutional locksets and door hardware. The successful candidate should also be able to install and maintain sophisticated security systems and hardware, (Card Access/Proximity Access). The candidate will be required to repair and maintain locks at all Red River College properties, as well as providing emergency lock service, sometimes including picking locks to gain access. The Locksmith position is also responsible to manage and/or modify the Master Key system at College properties, as well as installing and maintaining commercial door hardware. Servicing and changing combinations on safe and vault doors may also be required periodically. The candidate will work with the Maintenance Manager to implement and maintain a Preventative Maintenance program for locking systems which will ensure compliance with all Federal, Provincial and Municpal codes and bylaws.
