CASA VOLUNTEERS WANTED
The success of our future depends on the well-being of our children, but in Montana they are among the most vulnerable in our communities. Statewide the number of children entering foster care due to abuse or neglect in recent years has skyrocketed. In Yellowstone Coun-ty the number of children removed from their home has increased drastically from 182 in 2014 to an astonish-ing 531 in 2016. Despite the enormity of these statis-tics, our children are more than numbers, and each one deserves a voice. You could be that voice by becoming a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate with CASA of Yellowstone County. Give us a call or visit our website at YellowstoneCASA.org to learn more about our upcoming information sessions and how you can make a difference in the life of an abused or ne-glected child.

General Fund Operating Levy- The Lockwood School Board of Trustees were provided 17-18 school year budget information which anticipates an estimated de-crease of $147,808 from the current year budget. Due to this significant budgetary shortfall the School Board of Trustees are requesting a mill levy increase to continue providing he quality education the children of Lockwood deserve. The ballots you will receive in the coming days will have the request to increase the mills by 11.1 or $268,080. The tax increase would be approximately $14.99 annually for a home with an assessed market value of $100,000. (Assessed market value is generally less than the market price of a home)
