Our Lodge is very proud of our accomplishments thus far! In January, we partnered with Tchaikovsky Music studio's to present three Woodmen of the World Music Scholarship awards and to commemorate their annual recital. This year their music recital was entitled “Mozart Festival.” Our music scholarships were presented to Andrew Kim, Julieann Patarini, and Joanne Shin. There were a few hundred in attendance and our field force was present to respond to any questions or concerns anyone had about our organization. . Another first in our Lodge's history, besides presenting three music scholarship awards was the opportunity our lodge had to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. and St. Patrick's Day Parade. Woodmen of the World had the honor of displaying our banners on the sides of two convertible ford mustangs while

What a remarkable way to start our new year! Our Lodge is

very proud of our accomplishments thus far! In January, we

partnered with Tchaikovsky Music studio's to present threeWoodmen of the World Music Scholarship awards and to

commemorate their annual recital. This year their music

escorting the reigning 2012 Miss Latina Hawaii, and her

beautiful 2013 Miss Latina Hawaii competitors. Thousands

were in attendance lining the streets of Waikiki, along with

various television and media coverage.

In February, once again we proudly

sponsored the Miss Latina Hawaii Scholarship

pageant. Woodmen of the World’s ad were on theback cover of the pageant's program and we were

mentioned throughout the night to over a few

hundred guests in attendance. Christopher

Nguyen Jr. our Field Associate had the honor of 

presenting Steisha Sheather the new 2013 Miss

Latina Hawaii our Woodmen of the World plaque and a scholarship check to attend Argosy University. (Check

out the Woodmen Plaque *middle picture*.) That picture

was used in many local newspapers around the island.

Our Lodge attended two Career

Fairs and Expos during these past

months. The first Career Fair and

Expo was held at the University of 

Hawaii at Manoa and the second

was held at Hawaii Pacific

University. Our Area Managers

Christopher Nguyen Sr. and Steve

Nguyen along with Field Associate

Christopher Nguyen Jr. attended.

Our field force was present to

recruit potential field

representatives and to promote

awareness about Woodmen of the

World. There were over a few

hundred in attendance and mostwere excitedand surprised to hear

about the fraternal side of our

organization.

Nancy Ortiz and I were ecstatic and honored to be

chosen to be delegates to represent Woodmen of

the World, Lodge 0001 at our Jurisdictiona

Convention held in Ontario, California. All the

delegates were informed of our new fraternaprogram called Red Basket. Red Basket is an on-

line program where the lodges are able to connect

and help those in need all over the nation. The

delegates at the convention were also notified on

our organization's progress and improvements. We

also brainstormed on ideas and ways in which we

can improve our visibility in our communities, while

in the process of increasing our field force and

membership as well. Hawaii's, Lodge 0001 was one out of two lodges that received recognition and an award

for being a 5 star Lodge!
