( Saraswati Vandana by Sage Agastya )

She, who is as fair as the Kunda flower, white as the moon,

and a garland of Tushar flowers;

And who is covered in white clothes

She, whose hands are adorned by the excellent veena,

and whose seat is the pure white lotus;

She, who is praised by Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh;

and prayed to by the Devas

O Mother Goddess, remove my mental inertia!

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing

can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity

to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel

that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything

and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,

and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others

as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past

and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times

and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself

that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,

and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,

not in loud words but great deeds.

To live in faith that the whole world is on your side

so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Our Family

Where We Were

The Lodha World School chain started with the first campus in Thane, back in June 2008, to offer quality education to the residents of the Lodha Paradise Compound and other neighbouring housing pockets. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and offers the ICSE (Class X examinations). Our journey, twelve years ago, began with 24 enrolments.

While we were small we didn’t need much more than that to keep us all headed in the same direction.

Where We Are

Our second school came up in June 2013. Set in the first phase of Palava, this school too is affiliated to the CISCE, and is now upgraded to offer the ISC (Class XII examinations) besides the ICSE.

Our third school was inaugurated in June 2019, at Lakeshore Greens, Phase II, Palava. It is a proposed CBSE affiliate.

Today, LWS boasts of three schools with a pupil community that is bursting at 3500.

Our Values

Our Markers

LWS Markers – what sets us apart?

1. Symbioc Learning

Collaboration is at the core of Symbiotic Learning at LWS, a methodology where children, teachers and other stakeholders come together to create learning that is valuable. Symbiotic Learning often blurs the line between the teacher and the taught, offering a unique understanding of how learning can be shared and derived from anything and anyone. At LWS, we strive to learn from each other and build a mutually beneficial relationship that is brought about by a variety of strategic tools such as group discussion, project based learning, debates, think-pair-share, interviews, surveys etc. Symbiotic Learning fosters among children personalised learning and encourages them to apply their individual thinking thus strengthening their conceptual understanding at the end of their learning journey.

Symbiotic Learning is depicted through the colour light yellow as it stands for creativity and collaboration. All the events planned by the school in an academic year which drive Symbiotic Learning are thus represented in light yellow.

2. Design Thinking

The rationale behind Design thinking as a pedagogy aims at creating and facilitating future innovators and breakthrough thinkers. It is about creating innovative and collaborative workflows engineered to tackle problems and prototyping to discover new solutions. At LWS, integrating design thinking with our core strength of experiential learning, we have noticed that the level of engagement and ownership of learning is exceptional. While the children are learning to come up with solutions to real world problems, they are also developing highly valuable skills such as empathy, the ability to collaborate, to deal with ambiguity and to create.

The colour orange associates with alertness and thinking. All events planned by the school in an academic year encouraging children to think critically in a structured manner are represented in orange.

3. Samyuk – Emoonal Wellness

At LWS, we believe that developing the emotional quotient (EQ) is as important as developing the intelligence quotient (IQ) for both teachers and children. The social- emotional well-being program, Samyuktiat LWS schools is designed to equip every child with life skills that will enable them to deal with the challenges of life in today's diverse world. The emotional wellness program focuses on building social skills, emotional awareness and management, self-awareness and management to maintain student well-being. Samyukti, also believes in the value of giving back to society and actively engages our children in community outreach programs. Several other programs such as yoga, karate and sports help them establish a strong connect with their body, mind and soul. We encourage the children to introspect and build a positive environment for them to thrive happily at school. The colour sky blue creates a sense of well-being and is soothing to the mind. All the events planned by the school in an academic year aimed towards building emotional wellness in children are represented in Sky Blue.

4. Vasundhara Program – Environmental Consciousness

There is a significant difference between environmental awareness and environmental consciousness. The school works towards developing a sense of responsibility and purpose in children towards their environment. The school leads by example by strictly following the Green School Policy. Children actively participate in drives and awareness programs to ensure the learning is spread to the larger society. We have a Green School Committee in school that works relentlessly to make our schools plastic free. Together we work towards segregation of waste, recycling, increasing the flora and fauna, organising cleanliness campaigns etc.

The colour light green is related to nature and the environment. All the events planned by the school in an academic year working towards building environmental consciousness in children as well as the society are represented in green.

School Houses

Pupils of the school have been divided into the following four houses:

House Colour Significance

Atulya Red Atulya: the incomparable, unequalled in quest for excellence.

Never resting on past laurels, blazing new trails.

Shri JRD Tata is our inspiration. He exemplified unmatched excellence in ethical and trail blazing business leadership. A pioneer in corporate social initiatives too, he was a true champion.

The same unmitigable zeal we want to carry in our quest for excellence.

Advaita Green Advaita: the non-dual, the one who is matchless, peerless, with a single, unchanging vision.

One who is unique, having no duplicate, the epitome of perfection.

Shri APJ Abdul Kalam is our inspiration. He had a unique peerless vision for our country and society. His detached involvement set him apart.

We want to give every dream the wings to fly with the same matchless, unchanging vision of success and perfection.

Ananta Blue Ananta: the infinite, limitless, endless possibilities.

Constant search and an unquenchable thirst for higher and higher possibilities.

Mother Teresa is our inspiration. She was limitless in her possibilities to extend compassion to most down-trodden. She is a true role-model.

That same quality of limitless possibilities we want to imbibe in us, in everything that we think and do.

Akshaya Yellow Akshaya: the undiminishable, inexhausble spirit.

Ever bouncing back and not cowed by obstacles, to achieve what we set out to do.

Mahatma Gandhi is our inspiration. He showed inexhaustible strength, tolerance, patience, and determination to achieve freedom. He is the ultimate leader.

We want that inexhaustible spirit to pervade through us in whatever we set our eyes on.

Students are grouped into the four Houses above. Each House is headed by a House Mistress (designated teacher) and a House Captain and a Vice Captain.

Little Things that Matter the Most

We learn by doing and reflecting on what we do. – John Dewey

Let’s join the dots and complete one shape at a time as and when instructed by your class

teacher. Use this shape completed by you to write the answer to the question asked by

your teacher.

Some of the questions to reflect upon are –

1. Did you make someone feel that there is something special in them?

2. Were you an enthusiastic and cheerful learner?

3. Did you make an effort to improve on something you are not good at?

4. Did you promise yourself to think only the best in yourself and others?

5. Did you help someone selflessly?

6. Did you pay gratitude for all that you received?

7. Did you finish what you started?

8. Did you respect time and work diligently?

9. Were you as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own?

10. Did you meet every living creature with a smile?
