Author Patricia Richardson felt the desire to write at an early age. Her mind was always filled
with great stories, however her dreams and aspirations were put on the back burner and even at
times forgotten after she became married with children. Then the divorce came which meant she
had to become both mother and father to her children. She worked overtime and weekends just
to support her family.
In the latter part of 1998, author, Gracie Cornish, Ph.D. inspired her to follow her destiny by tell-ing her to just sit down and start writing and that is exactly what she did. She wrote every
chance she got; at work, on the subway and in her spare time. That very same year God im-
pressed upon her heart to relocate from New York to Maryland. She was obedient and moved
which meant that once again she had to put her writing on hold to become familiar with her new
environment and learn to cope with the conditions of a highly stressful job.
Most evenings when she arrived home the only thing she wanted to do was turn the ringer off the
telephone and sleep. Very seldom she picked up her manuscript, which she kept under her bed just
waiting for a moment when she was not to be too tired or stressed to write. The time for writingagain did not come until late in 2001 when she finally came to the realization that she would al-
ways be stressed and tired from working and if she did not use the gift God gave her shed never
achieve the independent financial freedom she wanted.
After this epiphany she set a goal for herself; to have the manuscript completed and sent to her
editor. Finally, in March of 2003 the book cover for her first novel,A Place forIda, was approved
and she was published! Most of her spare time was spent researching publishers, cover letters,
and anything else she felt was pertinent to her success. Since this time she established Leap of
Faith Publishing, LLC and has republished A Place for Ida. Soon after she also published Idas se-quel, A Time for Jonathanand the novels Deeply Hidden Desires and Where is God When Satan is Knock-
ing at My Door?as well as the short story, Lost Soul.
