SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2018. 7:00

SANTA BARBARA RED ROCK 40 MILER,

MARATHON , 1/2 MARATHON. FIRST

CROSSING DAY USE AREA, AT THE END

OF PARADISE ROAD.

This is not a fancy event, it is a genuine, old fashion

ultra run. It is a low key, 40 Mile Trail Endurance

Run, Trail Marathon and Trail Half Marathon. ALL

THREE DISTANCES will start at 7:00 A.M. on

SATURDAY, December 8, 2018 at the First Cross-

ing Day Use Area at the end of Paradise Road in

Santa Barbara. The out and back course formats

offer dramatic views of the Santa Barbara Back-

country. Your registration fee includes, finishers

award, custom shirt, awards to top male and female

overall. As always, the course marking will be

minimal but adequate. Aid on course will also be

minimal but adequate.

Half Marathon will start at 7:00am at the First

Crossing Day Use Area at the end of Paradise Road

approximately eleven miles from Hwy 154. The

Half Marathon is an out and back format. You will

run approximately 6.5 miles out on the Matias Trail

and turn around and retrace your steps back to the

First Crossing Day Use Area. There will be aid at

approximately mile seven.

Trail Marathon will start at 7:00am at the First

Crossing Day Use Area at the end of Paradise Road

approximately eleven miles from Hwy 154. The

Trail Marathon is an out and back format. You will

run approximately 13 miles out on the Matias Trail

to the Gibraltar Trail and turn around at Gibraltar

Mine and retrace your steps back to the First Cross-

ing Day Use Area. There will be aid at approxi-

mately miles 7, 11, 17 and 21. Be prepared for long

sections with no aid and no cellular contact.

40 Mile Trail Run will start at 7:00am at the First

Crossing Day Use Area at the end of Paradise Road

approximately eleven miles from Hwy 154. The 40

Mile course is an out and back format. First Cross-

ing Day Use Area to Arroyo Burro Road, Matias

Connector Trail, Paradise Road, Gibraltar Trail,

Cold Spring Trail, Camino Cielo Road and back.

The course is advanced and intended for the expert

– SPOONER’S COVE MONTANA DE

ORO TRAIL RUNS

(5M/8M/25K/37K/50K). LOS OSOS

This is part of the Coastal Trail Run series de-

signed to provide quality trail running experi-

ences. Check-in, start, and finish at Spooner’s

Cove in Montana de Oro State Park, 2828

Pecho Valley Road (Los Osos).

Enjoy views of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches,

and the ocean at the “Mountain of Gold”. The

5 mile course has minimal climbing and runs

along the bluffs. For impressive views of the

ocean and inland mountains, the 8 mile course

will bring you up the 1,347-foot Valencia

Peak. The 25 km course consists of two loops,

the 8 mi route and then the grassy summit of

Hazard Peak or complete the 25K twice for a

50K day. There are T-shirts to all entrants, re-

freshments, medals to the first male and female

overall, and to the top three in each age group.

Fees are 5M (8K) =$45; 8 M (13K) = $50;

25K= $60 ; 37K = $65 ; 50K = $80. All fees

increase by $10 after Dec. 2, 2018. For more

Santa Claus is coming to town – at La Cumbre

Plaza. On Saturday, December 15, 2018 come

join the fun & festivities at the Santa Claus

Run Santa Barbara. There's plenty of holiday

cheer for both the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run.

Early Registration: before December 10th. $30

Include T-shirt and Santa hat and gloves, med-

als for all!!! Late fee after. December 10th add

$10.

Part of the proceeds of this run will go to San-

sum Clinic to the Glaucoma department to help

patients. Packet Pickup & Late Registration

will be on Saturday at 7 a.m. next to LURE

FISH HOUSE at MACY'S Shopping Center in

La Cumbre Plaza.

Pre-register is open now - prices will go up

$10.00 for late registration, so sign up now!!!

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION RUN.

RIVER BEND PARK, LOMPOC.

Make fitness one of your priorities for 2019!

This 5K run takes place on the Lompoc

Multipurpose Trail. Join us for this fun and

exciting fitness event, where all ages and

abilities are welcome. If you don't want to

run, you can walk it.

You can register the day of the event from

8:00 AM until the race starts at 9:00 AM.

Fee for this event is $20. T-Shirts will be

sold at the event. You can pre-register at the

Anderson Recreation Center125 W. Walnut

Ave. Lompoc. Pre-registration and Day of

Registration is the same fee. At the time of

this writing registration was not open, call

805-875-8100 to find out when it opens.

This run takes place at River Bend Park near

the north end of A street.

Event Description

The Santa Barbara Athletic Association (SBAA)

offers a great way to start the New Year with an

invigorating oceanfront 5K & 10K run or

walk! Founded in 1979, the Resolution Run is a

Santa Barbara classic race inviting friends and

family from throughout Southern California to get

the New Year off and running!

SBAA events benefit the greater running commu-

nity, school and club running programs through-

out Santa Barbara County. Since 2009, over

$140,000 has been donated to our community.

Resolution Run Events

• 5K (3.1 Miles) Run or Walk

• 10K (6.2 Miles) Run or Walk

• New Year’s 15K Double! Sign-up for one dis-

tance and do both!

Race Location & Times

• Location: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara CA.

• Start times are 9:00am for the 5K

and 9:45am for the 10K.

• Packet pickup/late registration opens at 8:00 am

at Leadbetter Beach.

SBAA Grand Prix The 5K run is the inaugural SBAA Grand Prix

event for 2019. Compete against fellow runners

throughout the year in Santa Barbara’s best races!

Fees include a special Resolution Run t-shirt,

snacks & drinks on race day

• Race registration is just $30 ($40 for day of

event). There is not an additional fee to run both

the 5K and the 10K.

17 & Under participants are only $10! Your

based on your age on race day (January 1,

2018).

The route: 8.2 mls of beautiful ocean view

running. Beginning at Hearst San Simeon

State Park follow Hwy 1 South into Cambria,

take Moonstone Dr.(R) and Windsor Rd.(R)

finishing at Shamel Park. Shuttles provided

for transport back to start! The course is well

marked and plenty of enthusiastic Cuesta

volunteers monitor the course. Water is pro-

vided at start, finish & Mile 4. Bathrooms at

start and finish. Runners and walkers wel-

come within 2 hrs of start time. Registra-

tions limit participation to 300.

Fun Run starts at 8:00 am. LIMITED Park-

ing available at Hearst San Simeon State

Park and along San Simeon Rd. PLEASE

CARPOOL. This years AWESOME give-

aways include an assortment of performance

goods and gift certificates for men and

women of all ages. Registration is $37! An

additional $12 includes your 2019 edition

Castle to Coast t-shirt. Refueling is provided

at the end of the race; bread, bananas, recov-

ery FLUID and water. A portion of the pro-

ceeds help support Cuesta College Athlet-

ics. Finishing times posted on the website by

the end of the event weekend. Transfers

made on race day only. NO REFUNDS ARE

The Route

Starting at the historic San Ramon Chapel in Sisquoc, the 13.1 mile

course takes you through the country roads of the valley.

You will travel from Sisquoc on Palmer Road, Dominion, and

Clark Ave to St. Louis de Montfort Church.

A free shuttle service to the starting location will be provided

Shuttles to the starting location will be leaving SLDM at 7:00 AM

and 7:15 AM.

Limited parking is available at the starting location; carpooling is

strongly encouraged if you do not plan on utilizing the shuttle ser-

vice.

Start your Super Bowl Sunday with an in-

vigorating 4 mile run/walk. It's the 12th an-

nual Super Bowl 4-Miler at the Cabrillo Pa-

vilion, East Beach, Santa Barbara. Beautiful

out-and-back course on the bike path. Super

Bowl t-shirts for all and footballs for age

group winners.

Event details and schedule

Early registration fee thru 1/13/19: $35, then

$40 thru 2/1/119. $45 Late reg. fee. Super

youth (16 & Under) $20.

Packet pickup/late registration on race day

at the race location - Cabrillo Arts Pavilion

parking lot. Enter the parking lot from

Cabrillo Blvd. and the staging area is at the

west end of the lot. It's a self-pay fee system

in the parking lot.
