FOODTraditional British food is fish and chips. Next traditional food are sandwiches. Food is really expensive. They have bigger breakfast, because they don´t eat lunch at noon as we do in the Czech Republic, but at work they can go on snack. The snacks are usually the same, that means toasts with marmalade, butter, nutella, cornflakes or ham.

If they have snack from home it´s mostly toast with butter and ham, fruit, chips and water. They have special vinegar chips. They drink water, juice, black tea and milk. The biggest meal of the day is dinner. Mostly they have pizza and chips, spaghetti, fish and chips. There are a lot of McDonalds and fast food restaurants in London.

TRAVELLINGWhen we visited London, we focused on travelling there. Britain is the only country in the world, where they drive on the left side of the road. The typical public transport in London are red double-decker buses and underground. Buses are the most favourite attraction for the tourists. Families, which live in London, usually have one car, or two, because public transport in London (bus or train) is too expensive for daily using. That´s why traffic jams are very frequent there. Better is traveling by underground or a taxi.

Taxis have specific shape mostly they are black, but we can see some taxi cabs with advertising printed on them, too. You can pay by credit card in some of them. Because England is kingdom, policemen are riding the horses there instead of going by cars. For spending holidays, people often choose mountains, because in England there are not any. They like destinations like Italy or Greece too, because of the rainy weather in England. They mostly fly to holiday resorts, there are many very big and busy airports in London. Many people live in London suburbs, because they can´t afford living in the centre. Many people live in France and go every day to work in London.

FREE TIMEEnglish citizens spend lots of time by running or cycling everywhere. To job, to school or just for fun. They sometimes even ride a bike to work in suits. For people in London it is quicker because of traffic jams in the centre. But even if they have lots of problems with traffic jams, they travel a lot. They do not have cottages but they can rent some. They don't visit London´s favourite touristic places because it is too expensive for them.

They like spending time in the parks by having picnic or playing their favourite games like football, rugby or cricket. Except for these they also like swimming or playing golf or polo. They often watch sports competitions on TV, now it is rugby. In London, almost everyone has some pets. They spend a lot of time with them. Grandparents like spending time with grandchildren. English citizens like having tea or just watching TV in the evening. They also like reading books, mainly in public transport.
