The financial details of the transaction have not been revealed. The divestiture is necessary in order to comply with the demands of the US competition authorities relating to Unilever’s $3.7 bn acquisition of the US company Alberto Culver, which was completed in May this year. The Alberto VO5 brand in the USA and Puerto Rico includes shampoos, conditioners and hair- styling products, and the Rave brand consists of hairsprays.
