DEFINITION OF ‘LA FRANCOPHONIE’

The community of French-speaking peoples. Formally known as the Organisation internationale de la

Francophonie (OIF) or the International Organization of La Francophonie, the organisation comprises fifty-

six member states and governments and fourteen observers

A lot of languages are spoken in Africa, some local and some European… what European languages are not spoken at all in Africa?

European countries such as France, England, Belgium,Portugal, Italy and Spain colonized

Africa for several centuries. France and England were the powers with

more colonies in Africa. It is because of the French and Belgian

colonization that half of Africa today speaks French
