son) Moore in St. Ignace. He proudly served his country inthe U.S. Navy. While on leave from his service, he marriedthe love of his life, Dorothy Hawes in Angola on December17, 1955. John was a hardworking man, spending his entireadult life as an electrician while working his way to becom-ing a Master Electrician. He started with Henry Electric inAngola before opening a partnership company called NorthLake Electric in Angola. John retired from Clear Lake Elec-tric in December of 1996 to enjoy life.

John was a man of faith and a member of the East OvidUnited Brethren Church. He was a member of the IBEWLocal 305 out of Ft. Wayne. He enjoyed the outdoors, play-ing golf and going pheasant hunting. John liked to go bowl-ing and watch sporting events. His true joy in life was hisfamily, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Hewill be missed by many.

The great truth of Christmas is that God came into the world in the Person of His Sonto save sinners. The Gospel message is that the holy God who cannot and will not tol-erate sin loved sinners to the point of sending a Righteous Substitute so that God’sown righteousness would be applied to sinners and make them acceptable to Him!“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespassesunto them;”(II Corinthians 5:19) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew nosin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (II Corinthians 5:21)

Mysterious? Absolutely! “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:God was manifest in the flesh….”(I Timothy 3:16) But this is Jesus Christ, “Who, beingin the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of noreputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness ofmen: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedientunto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:6-8) This is “Emmanuel, whichbeing interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23)
