FOR INSPIRATION

"I'm an architect and photographer also. I love to travel and take a lot of good

pictures to inspire myself and others with the greatness of the world.

This is one of my favorite travel photos that I took so far. A photo that combines

travel and architecture. I took this photo at Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex a

few days after the final of UEFA Euro 2012 in Kiev, Ukraine. It was the perfect clear

sky and perfect time when I arrived and I love the simplicity of the photo, so I took

this photo, with the clear sky and the building side by side with a shadow of the

stadium structure."

"I’ve learned so much about myself by traveling to new places and meeting new

people. There are so many ways for the world to come together as one, and in my

opinion, travel is at the top of that list. You can look at pictures and read books all

you want, but you will never truly experience a place until your feet are planted in

the soil. This is especially true for a place like Japan. Nothing could prepare me

for what I experienced my first time there. The shopping was great, the food was

amazing, but the people were the highlight."

“We’d be greeted every time we stepped into the store and cared for until we left.

If we bought something, the form of payment would be placed on a little tray, the

article would be carefully wrapped, gently placed into a bag, then the bag would

be taped up. This would happen even if a line had formed behind me. In North

America, there would definitely have been annoyed sighs from customers and

rushed employees—but everyone seemed to accept the value and integrity of the

process. The methodical/perfectionistic nature of Japanese culture really chal-

lenged and inspired me to approach my craft and life with a new perspective."
