The hair is moulded with light, wet styling product to bring out natural movement, leaving it looking very chic, understated with a modern cool.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 6
The pastels of past season have taken root and are part of the palette for a while yet. Powder and frosty tones like iced pink will be more mainstream as this touch of fun takes hold.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 7
More subtle, freehand, painted-on techniques are now in play. This salon hit will continue for the next season giving clients the versatility in changing or in enhancing tones and adding some sparkle to the hair.

The return of curl and texture is evident everywhere from the red carpet, catwalk to urban street wear. From full, bouncy soft curls to looser softer waves with the many brilliant new products dedicated to curls have opened many new/ more options for the consumer to play with. Our take on the curl is more urban (Solange Knowles inspired) with a sophisticated finish, wild and bouncy yet shiny and beautiful.

1960s Yves Saint Laurent Sets the STAGE for the CAST Artistic Team
Fresh, raw and young looks are emerging for street-wise women with power, with determination and direction ... that’s the fashion message from CAST’s
new STAGE collection.
Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s cigarette pant suit era of the 1960s, the hair presents beautiful looks to be presented to CAST clients next season.
According to CAST artistic team member, Lucy Cardoza, YSL changed women’s fashion completely by creating masculine looks like “The Tuxedo” in response
to the new feminist era. They were worn with the greatest femininity and allure.
“Today we see the reinvention of Power Dressing!,” Lucy said. “Other designers like Balenciaga and Givenchy are now showing new versions of the strong
power dresser on the catwalks.”
CAST’s favourite muses for the collection were model Omahyra Mota and Lady Gaga.
CAST Artistic Director, Freda Rossidis said that the collection reinforced CAST’s reputation as the salon for strikingly stunning, street looks and intricate,
flattering colour.

DISARRAY
TOUSLED STYLE FROM CASEY COLEMAN @OCEAN
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 11
Randomness brings a certain tension to any style.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 12
The lack of perfectly clean
lines reflects our love of selfies and spontaneous art.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 13
The multiple dimension of every part of these
styles gives the impression of movement
and art.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 14
Pulling a black and white outfit into the look gives the stage to our style which is heavily randomized.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 15
But building on traditional fashion and style from the 60’s as a foundation to add modern twists gives the message of disarray.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 16
Inspired by ancient royalty,
with a sharp, modern twist to bring it all
into the modern age.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 17
The classics of a bygone era are powerful, and they become explosive when updated with disarray.

AURORA BOREALIS
WHERE COLOUR AND CUTTING INTERSECT, BY DMITRI PAPAS
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 20
This collection began at one point - the intersection between cutting and colour.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 21
An organic fusion of evocative tones, and sharp, technical cutting, creating an aesthetic that is both forward-thinking and stylistically exciting.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 22
The collection echoes the breath-taking natural light
display produced when charged atomic particles
collide in our atmosphere.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 23
It highlights precision cutting and styling, enhanced by strong colour with a myriad of reflections and subtle nuances.
LookBook October 2014 Pg. 24
By starting from a place of exploration, Aurora Borealis is a series that draws on the beauty of nature to create an ethereal, cutting-edge glamour.

The bright dancing lights of the ‘Aurora Borealis’ or ‘Northern Lights’ are collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the
earth’s atmosphere. The lights are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern – ‘Aurora Borealis’ – and southern – ‘Aurora Australis’ – hemispheres.
The Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights was named after the Roman goddess of dawn – Aurora – and the Greek name for the north wind – Boreas.
A muted backdrop has been used so the observer is directed to the three chosen aspects of hair, make up and lighting. As a result of the stimulus, I’ve
been able to marry the colour work with the cut designs.
The use of light angled creates various contoured beams (adding layers) and the focus spotlight enhances the beauty of the metallic made-up faces
(creating mood and depth.) Using light, dark and bright tones has allowed me to produce the flashes of glow reminiscent of the bright dancing lights of the
Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.
