Let Your Inner DesIgner surface

Similar to furniture and décor, surfaces in the home speak volumes about your personality, taste and eye for details. It makes sense that an equal amount of attention is paid to choosing surfaces for your space. Not only do they have to be pleasing to the eyes, they should also be durable enough to withstand daily wear and tear. One of the best surfaces for the job is quartz and Caesarstone is one of the go-to brands for quality quartz surfaces. Caesarstone is the world’s first original quartz surface available in a wide range of colours and style. Quartz is not only beautiful, it is also one of nature’s strongest minerals. This means that Caesarstone quartz surfaces, which consist of up to 93 per cent quartz, are highly resistant to scratches, chips and cracks. Are you wary of placing extremely hot or cold items on your countertops? No need to fear. Thanks to its heat-resistant quality, Caesarstone quartz surfaces can withstand temperatures of up to 150°C (300°F); they are more heat-resistant than other stone surfaces such as granite, marble and limestone.

Caesarstone quartz surfaces are also non-porous and non-absorbent, making them resistant to most stains caused by fruit juices, liquid food colouring, coffee, tea, wine, grapes, common household chemicals and soft drinks. With four beautiful collections that boast of an extensive range of colours, textures and finishes, Caesarstone can be further customised with different edge profiles and shapes to meet your interior needs. Simply pick your ideal surface: Classico, Concetto, Motivo, or Supremo. Classico is a classic collection with shades varying from salt-and-pepper hues to vivid colour blends, ideal for an assortment of residential or commercial applications, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. With a high level of resistance

against mould and mildew, Classico surfaces do not require sealing and offer four times the flexural strength of normal surfaces. It is also available in three different finishes, namely Polished, Honed (matte or non-glossy) and Viento (textured). Concetto lets you unleash the artist in you. With a range of 15 exquisite colours, this luxurious collection is handcrafted from individually cut and bound semi-precious stones from all over the world. They are then transformed in a process that captures and enhances their natural allure, giving your home that additional ‘wow’ factor. Some of the designs even have a natural transparency that can be backlit to create a soft ambience. Motivo is yet another collection that will impress. Based on a patented manufacturing process that unites two types of finishes to create an embossed 3D effect, Motivo offers textured surface panels for cladding bathroom walls and kitchen backsplashes. This surface can even be used for custom-made furniture for that unique touch. This collection is available in black or white, with either a delicate lace pattern or a daring crocodile pattern. Last of the four collections is Supremo, the latest premium range that comes in eight classy colours. Each Supremo slab is distinctive, making each room it is used in singular. And like the Motivo, Supremo can be used for a number of applications. With so many choices and design possibilities from Caesarstone quartz surfaces, the only difficulty you’ll have is deciding on which one to choose.

what are the things that define a good home interior? when we sit back and consider the question, the answer often turns out to be the same: light-filled, comfortable, unpretentious and enjoyable spaces. it doesn’t need to be fancy and it certainly doesn’t need unnecessary bells and whistles – those only serve to distract. so it isn’t surprising that when ciseern was commissioned to design this semi-detached house, the brief only asked for an easy contemporary look that would also harness singapore’s tropical context.

Natural Waysspaces are kept bright and airy, with much of the “embellishing” owing to materials. Going with a palette of neutral, earthy tones, the designers worked with materials like volex marble on the first floor, which lends an interesting but elegant texture to the floor. furniture pieces all keep within the same family of colours – charcoal, brown and beige – and consist of a mix of modern pieces and antique side tables, daybeds and cabinets.

in the living area, dark, sombre furniture is nicely contrasted against a white display feature made up of trimmed, open niches. it takes inspiration from classical details, but is rendered in acrylic in this instance. the designers explain that they also wanted to create a kind of rhythm in the living area with the different sizes and shapes of the niches. A sense of rhythm is also reinforced by the timber screen that shields the staircase.
