Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles, often known by its initials L.A., is a major city in California's Southern California region.

Los Angeles is the second-largest city in the United States, after New York City, and the most populous city in California. Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, celebrity culture, traffic, and the film and television industry.

Los Angeles is a global city, with strength in business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine and research. It has been ranked sixth in the Global Cities Index and 9th Global Economic Power Index.

Los Angeles includes Hollywood and leads the world in the creation of television productions, video games, and recorded music; it is also one of the leaders in motion picture production. Additionally, Los Angeles hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984.

Universal Studios HollywoodIt is a film studio and theme park in the Universal City community. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use.

Hollywood Walk of Fame The Hollywood Walk of Fame comprises more than 2,500 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others.

Disneyland It is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17, 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property; its name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s.

Griffith ParkGriffith Park is a large municipal park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is the second-largest city park in California. Is much larger, more untamed, and rugged than its New York City counterpart.

Hollywood SignThe Hollywood Sign is a landmark and American cultural icon located in Los Angeles. "HOLLYWOOD" is spelled out in 45-foot-tall white capital letters, and is 350 feet long. It was originally created in 1923 as an advertisement for a local real estate development, but it garnered increasing recognition after the sign was left up. The sign was a frequent target of pranks and vandalism.

Dolby TheatreThe Dolby Theatre is a live-performance auditorium in the Hollywood. Since its opening on November 9, 2001, the theater has hosted the Academy Awards ceremonies (the Oscars), initially held there in March 2002. It is the first permanent home for these annual awards ceremonies.

Hollywood BowlThe Hollywood Bowl is a 1920s amphitheater in the Hollywood area. It is known for its band shell, a distinctive set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929. The "bowl" refers to the shape of the concave hillside the amphitheater is carved into.

L.A. LiveIt is an entertainment complex in the South Park District of Downtown Los Angeles, California. It is adjacent to the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center. It cost approximately US$2.5 billion to build. The architectural firm responsible for the master plan and phase two buildings was Baltimore.

Cathedral of Our Lady of the AngelsIt is a Latin-rite cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in Los Angeles. Opened in 2002, the cathedral serves as the mother church for the Archdiocese. It is also the cathedra seat of Archbishop José Horacio Gómez.

The Grammy MuseumIt is an interactive, educational museum devoted to the history and winners of the Grammy Awards. The museum also features a rich collection of historical music artifacts including costumes and instruments from the Grammy Awards, hand-written lyrics, records and audio/video recordings.

Port of Los AngelesIt is a port complex that occupies 7,500 acres of land and water along 69 km of waterfront and adjoins the separate Port of Long Beach. The port is located in San Pedro Bayin. A department of the City of Los Angeles, the Port of Los Angeles employs nearly 1,000 peope and is the busiest container port in the United States. For public safety, the Port of Los Angeles utilizes the Los Angeles Port Police to fight crime and terrorism.
