godsend when it comes to streamlining the ranch into the tech-nology world. Casey and Bobbi bought the house the boys all shared, so they’re living in domestic bliss with their two dogs – and Joey. Casey has continued as foreman for Bullinger Tree Services and thrives as an arborist, and Bobbi is with NoDak Insurance for another year and loves her agents and enjoys being able to spend her Friday afternoons with her pups. Wesley is living the MDU lineman life and works hard keeping Bismarck lit up – no matter the hour, and Amy has been with Sanford for a year and a half and loves spoiling their Golden Retriever, Nala. Ty and Blaisey are enjoying their peaceful life above the calving barn. They announced that there will be an addition to our grandchildren herd, so we’re beyond excited for July.

As always we have been trying to acquire the best genetics we can. As you all know that can yield great results and equally great disasters. We have made many investments to improve our herd and calf crop to bring a better animal to our sale. We believe in only raising top quality for customers. Our main goals are to fi nd and produce genetics with calving ease, performance and carcass traits.

This year we will be selling a set of 104 powerful Charolais bulls, which are sure to put dollars into any calf crop.

The Simmentals are no slouch either as they can stand up to most any cross you want. They also carry strong maternal traits. We often get asked which breed has the best gain and weaning weight. In the thirty plus years we’ve had both breeds the Simmentals seem to wean a little heavier, but the fi nal weights see the Charolais overtaking them. The 66 head of Simmentals in the sale this year are about 40/60 black/red.

The bulls have been fed a TMR ration consisting of grain, corn silage, mixed chopped hay and distillers. We would like to thank J & L Nutritional Consulting from Perham, Minnesota for all his help with the rations. He will

be at the sale and be will available to answer questions, as will Harlan, David, and myself.

The cattle will be at the ranch until the Thurday before the sale. Anyone is welcome to stop in and walk through them. The ranch is located west of Mandan on I-94 go to exit 136 then travel 2 miles north and one west.

Simmental FamilyDear friends and livestock producers,

It is our pleasure to invite you to our 39th Annual Production Sale. We are looking forward to seeing you on March 5th, 2019, and would like to thank you for your interest in the seed stock in our sale. We have high hopes you are all doing well and having a productive start to 2019.

Last year 2018 was a much better year then the year before. Good rains early, and ok rains in July and August. But it was better then the year before. Did get plenty of hay and silage to get us thru the year. Our crops where good to above average. The pasture did get short at the end of grassing. I hope everyone else got thru the year in a good note.

Harlan & Jodie have two girls, Hailie who is an RN at Sanford Dialysis Center. She is engaged to Thomas Bement and they are planning their wed-ding for this October. We’re so excited to getting a boy! He is a welder at the refi nery in Mandan and is extremely passionate at what he does! Jacie will be graduating from BSC in May with her Associates in Science & in Liberal Arts. She has been accepted to UND to continue her degree in Social Work. She is so excited to spread her wings and experience a diff erent city. As for Harv & I we’re surprised to be liking the empty nester’s club as much as we are but love when all three come home.

David and Donna’s oldest, Katie is currently working towards her bach-elor’s degree through Dickinson University and will graduate in May. She is living in Mandan and is working at Bremer Bank in Bismarck. Krysten is employed at Liberty Elementary in Bismarck as an instructional aide working with children that have special learning needs. She is living in Mandan and loving her crazy schedule! Dave and Donna are enjoying their girls living so close and are always looking for the next adventure!

Pam and Charles had the opportunity to experience the ‘snowbird’ life for a week when our youngest twin, Wesley, married Amy in beautiful Maui, Hawaii. All our kids were able to join, so it was great being together before the reality of everyone starting their own life adventures set in. It was hard to leave, but we were happy to be home and back in routine. Angela, our oldest, is still the Regional Account Executive for ABC-TV on our side of the state and enjoys the challenges and fl exibility the position off ers, and she still does her photography. Braxton (7) and Truett (6) are both loving the wrestling life and have already started collecting medals this season. We love watch-ing them wrestle with their uncles and seeing them take what they’re learning to the mat. Austynn (4) is my little cattle picker. She loves going through the books and watching online sales with me – with A LOT of commentary. Our oldest boy, Joey, and our youngest, Ty, are both still on the ranch working
